HPT question

I am so confused...
I am on CD 32 - my normal cycle is 30days. I know I ovulated because my temps are post ovulation temps... I have perfect cycles (meaning that they never vary)- My Luetal Phase is a bit longer than others but not much... I have had several IUI's & every single time, I have ovulated on CD15 --- EVERY TIME! So if I did ovulate on my normal CD15 - then I am now 16DPO & 2 days late... The only HPT's that I have are the ones that you buy at the Dollar Tree store... I took one a few days ago & it was negative... I took another one the next day & it was negative (this was the day that I would normally start my period)... Yesterday I took two tests - the first one was negative (I only glanced at it after about a minute & then tossed it in the trash) - about an hour later I went to the bathroom again & when I noticed the test that I had just taken an hour ago in the trash, it had a very noticeable 2nd pink line. There were some minor streak lines going from the Test line to the edge of the test - but the line was very easy to see... It looked positive to me... I figured that I must be pregnant because this line is almost as dark as the control line... So later that day I took another one just so I could verify it... But after 3 full minutes, it was still negative... Again today I took another one... It appeared as though part of a line started to show but then quickly vanished completely - after 3 minutes it was still negative...

My temps are more pg ones than post ovulation ones... Post O for me is usually between 98.2-99.2 ---- My temps now are quite a bit higher (just like they were while I was pg with my daughter) they are now between 99.4-100.7

Do you have any ideas?????

Hi Tanya: Actually, if you ovulated on cd 15 and today is cd 32, then you are 17 dpo! It seems to me that there are a couple of possibilities:

1. Despite being like clockwork, you ovulated later than usual this month. Even the most regular woman can have a delayed O once in a while. If you did O later, then you might be pg and just testing too early ... or you might not be pg and AF is not technically late and will come soon.

2. You ovulated on time, really are 17 dpo, and are pg, but for some reason the tests are not picking up HcG ... this could be because that brand doesn't work for you or the batch of HPTs is defective ... If you ovulated on cd 15 and are not pg, then I can't figure out why your LP is so long this month if it's usually 15 days long??

If I were you, I'd wait another 2 days and then test again. Or I'd test again now, with a different brand of HPT, like ClearBlue Easy or e.p.t.

GOOD LUCK and let us know how you make out!

Tanya were all your tests taken on the Dollar store $1 ones? Only because they have become my specialty lol. If so these test take a while to read a positive result. Not 1 min or even three. You can read this one (as it says on the box) up to 10 minutes with accuracy. My early ones (like 11DPO - 14DPO were very light and it took it a good 5 minutes to show up. My ones now that are like 17/18 DPO are coming up quicker. Those tests just take abit to show. If you are really curious go get a CBE digital - pee on it in the morning tomorrow and that should give you a better answer. The dollar general ones can be a little tricky.. I look forward to your news!!!

Good luck your temps look great

i would definitely wait 2 more days (the approximate doubling time for hcg) and test again. bes ureto use FMU as it would be the most concentrated, and try an different brand test.

i'm also a fan of CBE and ept. good luck!

I agree with DKNY about waiting 2 more days and then test again. I would try FR or one of the other name brands ones when you test again.

Good luck & +++++++++++ thoughts. Please keep us posted.

Thank you all so much for your replies...
Unfortunately AF came crashing in this morning!!!! UUUGGGHHHH!!!!!! I really hate that witch!!!!!

I am thinking very much that it was most likely a chemical pg. - I have had many of them as I deal with immune issues... I forgot to mention that on the day I normally should have started AF, I had some very light spotting but then nothing else... And then the next day I had a bit of brownish spotting & then nothing... I'm thinking that the one & only positive test I got was possibly because my HCG rose just high enough to detetect it & then quickly dropped again giving me the negative results after the one positive one... Very common with chemical pg's --- Although I never got a beta done & so there is no way to positively confirm it...

Thanks again to you all...
Hugs
Tanya
