Please help- I think something might be wrong with me (child ment)

I haven't been here in years but really don't know where to turn. Last cycle I had really light spotting one day, light bleeding next day, then light spotting again. This was a few days before my period was due. My lp is usually extra long, never short. I had all neg. pg tests afterwards. I had my yearly pap appt the next week and mentioned it. They said it sounded like implantation and did blood test which was neg. So I counted that as my period and started with the OV tests for this cycle. I had a + OPK on cd 14 which is the earliest I've ever gotten one even when I was on clomid before (I'm not taking anything now). Ok, on Tues. (cd 20, 6dp + opk) I had spotting only on the tp, same Wed., then woke up this am and had bleeding. I am only a week past O and 3 weeks from my last weird period. I don't know what in the world to think. I have always had really long cycles with a 5 day period and 2 days spotting. I am not temping because I am up to much in the night with my little boy. Oh, also want to mention that I have endometriosis in case that might shed some light even though I've never done this before. Please, any help at all? I am so worried. We have been ttc #2 for 7 months (it took 4 1/2 years with #1 and got pg on rest cycle before IVF). I hope this isn't too confusing and someone might have some information. Thank you.

Hi Maria: I'm sorry for the strange spotting/bleeding patterns ... endometriosis can cause intermittent spotting, so if it wasn't implantation, it might be that ... or maybe your prog. levels were low in your LP (can cause the lining to shed a little) ... what I would do now is to call your doctor and let him/her know that this is happening ... and I would ask for a progesterone test to see 1) whether you did O after your ++OPK and 2) what your level looks like ....

Please let us know how you're doing ... I hope that this month it IS implantation spotting .... good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++

Thank you.. more

Thanks for your replies. I really appreciate it. I called the doc right after I posted yesterday and they had me come in. This was just my regular midwife/ob, not the doc who helped me with all my infertility problems before. I don't feel like they have ever really helped me but since they could get me in and the other one is 2 hours away, I went. So anyway, she said that this looks like a normal period and the other one was probably just abnormal shedding of the lining. She wouldn't really listen to me about my positive OPK's either cycle. She wants me to count from the first day of this period and in 14 days take Provera and have another period and see if that gets me back on track. Somehow that just doesn't sound right to me. Why would I do that if I'm having a period now? I'm also going on Mon. for an ultrasound. She said something about my uterus being slightly large but still within normal limits. She said since it is retroverted that is normal but wanted to look at it anyway. Any ideas what exactly this means? I really don't feel like getting into all this infertility stuff again with all the tests etc. I'm just not sure what to do. Thanks again. Any input?

Hi Maria: What has the bleeding been like exactly (this recent episode)? Is it a red flow or just spotting? If it's a red flow and really seems like AF, then there's no harm in considering this a start of a new cycle and going from there. But I don't understand why she'd say to take Provera in 14 days??? Why not just let your body do what it's going to do? And I certainly wouldn't take any Provera without a beta to make sure you're not pg.

I'm glad you're going for an u/s on Monday. Maybe it will shed some light on what's going on. And if you continue to have questions about what your body's doing, I'd seek out a doctor just for a consultation (you don't need a battery of tests necessarily!).

Please let us know how you're doing and how the u/s goes on Monday!
+++++++++++++good luck
Maura

Thanks Maura

What a fast reply. When I was here before you were always sooo good about helping. Yes, I do believe this is my normal AF. It is actual red bleeding and I've had cramps too. I just don't understand the + Opk a week ago and the one I had almost 2 weeks before my spotting before. I guess I'll have to start temping if at all possible. Its hard getting up so much in the night. I really don't understand the Provera either and just don't feel like she really knew what she was talking about. She really acted like she was unsure and just guessing. I will go for the u/s but after that I will probably wait a bit and then go back to my fertility doc if I'm up to it. I forgot to mention that I have been using natural progesterone cream after I O the past couple cycles. I know its supposed to help but I'm wondering if that might be part of my problem. Anyway, sorry my posts are so long-winded. Thanks again for all your help.
