question about hcg trigger and hpt...please?

Hello, I actually just posted this on the general board, but thought there may be some "experts" over here??....

"Hello, I am new posting here..but am so happy to have found the site!!
I have a question for any of you who might have gotten a + after an hcg trigger? This is my first cycle of injectibles, and I did an hcg trigger (10,000) the day before IUI.
Today is 9dpiui, and 10 dp-hcg...late yesterday and early this morning I got a super faint + on an Ekerd hpt. I was so happy, and then started thinking about the hcg trigger.....
How long will that hcg show up on an hpt for? What's the earliest that anyone has gotten (or heard of) a valid + hpt after an hcg trigger?
This waiting is absolutely killing me!!!!

Thanks so much for any answers anyone wants to throw at me!!!

Hi CaliGoGo and welcome to the site. After a trigger shot, the HcG *might possibly* be gone within 10 days, is often gone within 12 days and is almost always gone within 14 days after the shot. So, it's impossible to say whether the positive you got on your HPT is from the shot or from a pg. If you can, wait another 4 days and then any ++ should be from you!

Here is an excerpt from the fertilityplus site on the topic:

"Q: Can I use an HPT if I had an hCG injection (such as Profasi, Pregnyl or Novarel)?

A: You can, but you should wait 7-14 days after your last injection before the shot is out of your system. If you test too soon, you might get a false positive. Wait 14 days after a 10,000 IU injection, 10 days after a 5,000 IU injection, or 7 days after a 2,500 IU injection."

Good luck and let us know how your next HPT comes out!

Thanks, Maura.
I had seen that, but, of course, was hoping that someone has had "personal experience" with the hcg being gone earlier. Grasping at straws, I know. Only 4 more days, but they seem as if they may as well be years!!

Hopefully the + will get darker and not lighter!!

Hey,
I can wait with you. I am 12 days post the trigger shot. They told me that the earliest I can test will be Monday. Hopefully we will both get the news that we want.

You are so good to wait!! Since I've already "blown it", I'll prob do another hpt in the am to see if it is darker or lighter!! LOL!! I just went and got a 2-pk (with one free) and already used the "free" one!! It was +, too, but still the same ?? about the hcg trigger!! So, at least I have a baseline hpt to compare to tomorrw!
Let me know how you make on til Monday!
