Mine went 37 (14 dpo), 45, 56, 59, 79, then started dropping pretty fast to 76, 9, then finally 0. I think I only did the first 4 every-other-day, then they told me to go every other week until it hit zero.
I m/c 3 weeks after my first beta. I was ecstatic after the first beta, sort of. The nurse told me that my number was too low, but I knew the important thing was for it to double, so I was still happy. After the second beta it all went to hell. 2 weeks and 5 days of waiting to m/c was the absolute worst thing in my life. Then I was told I'd have to sit out the next cycle (which is what I am doing right now - natural cycle) because it might be all screwed up. I'd rather have had a BFN.
You are waiting for the numbers to go down. However, your RE is saying that they can do u/s to rule out ectopic, but only after beta goes over 1000 because anything under 1000 will be too small to see. Hopefully - I know this is an awful thing to say, but - hopefully you don't get there. Ectopics can be very dangerous, as I'm sure you know.
If you do have an ectopic, you should be OK because your low, slow rising betas means its probably not growing and it should dissolve on its own without causing any problems. The danger happens when ectopics grow at regular pace - which means doubling betas - and outgrow their space.
However, if you start to feel ANY kind of pain, call your RE asap.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. Lean on me any time you wish.
Oh, after almost 3 weeks of this, I called my RE's office in absolute despair. He said he would monitor my betas for 1 month and if they kept rising, he would then intervene with either D&C or some shot to help it dissolve faster. (I've seen methotrexate mentioned on these boards, but my RE said something else, I just can't remember what it was). He also said that he was qu
