I have a question for u experts (HPT question) Children mentionned

    Hi all.

I feel rather silly posting here...but since I am a very superstitious woman I just HAD to do a HPT. Dh and I are not ttc. We are only using condoms..the pill does a real number on me.

AF is late. No biggy usually since I have PCOS. BUT I've been having AF like symptoms for well over a week...in fact I thought AF was due LAST weekend...but when I checked on the calendar it was due a few days ago...so I was WAY off...usually AF symptoms show a few days b4...not 10-12 days!

Here is the superstitious part. When I got pg with my now 5 year old dd...I fell down the stairs and hurt myself really badly....a few days later I find out I was pg. When I got pg with my twins...I had a car accident. Now last week I had a treadmill accident. Hurt my knee REALLY badly.

So, I broke down and did a HPT (First Response) on Thursday. Negative EXCEPT there WAS a second line...just not in the window...right b4 the window. Can it be possible that it is actually +???

    Thanks

    MarieJosee

Just wanted to add that I removed signature and avatar so as to not hurt your feelings....hope that is ok.

hi mariejosee...hmmm, i see the 'supersticious' pattern you're talking about LOL.

i'm not quite sure that i'm following your line before the window thing. if it's before the window, how can you see it? is it something that appeared within the testing time frame?

i think if you're certain you're late for AF, i would go get another test (choose one that picks up a low amount of hcg) and retest with FMU tommorrow.

here's a link that tells you the sensitivity of the tests by brand:

P.S. thank you for the consideration of the av/sig

The first response test is clear...so u can see the whole process....a line showed up b4 the time was up right b4 the window...pee goes from left to right...line was on left close up to result window..that is why I asked

    Marie,

I would retest again. The line all the way to the left doesn't sound right. Can't hurt to give it another shot! Please let us know what happens!

    Hugs,
    Athena
