LP, PG Questions

Hi All

Well we were finally able to bms last night (cd17). We were supposed to start on cd15, but other circumstances prevented that I should O today or tomorrow, so we are going to bms today and tomorrow. I am taking Mucinex, but don't see much increase in cm. We are not temping or using opk this month, so I don't have much hope. We are just getting back into the swing of IF so were kind of taking it slow and relearning everything.

Anyway, last month my LP was only ten days. Dr says this is plenty of time to allow implantation, but it seems short to me. Should I be worried about this? Also, how soon after O do the pg symptons start if you are pg? Do you get a + test before you get symptoms?

Thanks for your help!

Hi: I think you'll be fine with your BMS schedule. As for your LP, I would be concerned with a 10 day LP... since implantation can take place between 6-12 dpo, with a 10 day LP, you are missing 2 of the critical days... it might be that you need to take prog. supps to extend your LP... I would revisit the issue with your doctor and if she/he doesn't agree to try to help you lengthen it, I might think about finding another doctor....

Many women feel absolutely NO pg symptoms until well into the pg, so if you don't feel anything unusual, don't worry. From what I've seen here, the majority of pg women get a ++ test before they ever feel anything related to pg. I myself felt nothing with dd until morning sickness set it at 8 wks!

Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++++

Well, this is kind of weird. My normal LP is 13-14 days and with my last cycle I had a prog test done on cd22. Dr. said prog was great and was positive for O, but then AF came 4 days early??? We hadn't bms'd that cycle so I wasn't expecting pg, but why would AF come so early? I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it was a fluke. If my LP goes back to 13-14 days should I still ask about the supps?

Thanks for the info on the pg symptoms. I always try to convice myself that I'm not pg because I don't have any symptoms!! I don't want to get my hopes up.

Thanks Again!

-A

Hi: It may be that you ovulated a little earlier than usual last month, which is why AF came a little earlier... were you temping or did you use OPKs?

Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++

No, but I had the O pain REALLY bad last month so I know I O'd on cd18 and then AF came on cd28!? I think it was a fluke b/c AF is usually always on cd32. I do have about 4 or 5 days of spotting before it gets heavy and I have been counting the first day of spotting as the first day of AF (per Dr), so maybe I am just off on my calculations. I'll just wait and see what the next 2wks brings. Thanks for your help. It really is great to know there is support out there!

Hi again: Two things to consider. First, the pain you felt on cd 18 could have been post-O. The cyst left behind after O (normal) can cause some discomfort sometimes. Also, as you said, you might be counting AF too early since many doctors think you don't count cd 1 until the first day of red flow (and not just spotting).

In any case, I hope this month is different and your LP is 9 months.

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++

I hadn't thought of that. Next month we will definitely temp and opk so there hopefully won't be any question. Thanks!
