OPK questions and BMS
Hi everyone,
I usually just lurk, but need help. I took a opk yesterday because there had been some crm the day before not as much as usual cycles last month it was a 43 day cycle. I thought for sure I am not ovulating this early anyway it was darker if not the same color as the ref line. I took one this morning and it is the same thing. We bms Wed. and last night. We got preggo with my twins by IUI the last time I was preggo to my knowledge. Then he had low morphology from what I was told their spermies replenish about evry 45 days. Anyway the question is how long should we continue to bms I have heard if there is male factor sometimes every other night? Of course just really wanting it to happen this month as usual. Also since I have technically detected a surge if I continued to test shouldn't the test get lighter? THnks for all your help. Denise PLease excuse any typos.

Hi Denise
. When you get a ++OPK, it's a good idea to BMS the day you get the ++ as well as the next two days. So, with no male factor issues, you would BMS today and tomorrow too, leaving 24 hours in between sessions to allow for sperm rejuvenation. Now you mentioned that you might have a make factor issue. Do you know whether your dh has a low count or just low percentage of sperm with good morphology? I'm not at all well-versed in male factor issues, but maybe BMS every other day is important only where the man has a low overall count? Just not sure! Can you check with your doctor? If it were me, I'd go ahead and BMS just because I always wanted to BMS on the day I ovulated! As for the OPK remaining ++, it's normal to have more than one day of ++OPK. However, it remains ++, that could indicate that you have overly high LH levels and may mean that it's not a true surge. But, I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just because it is earlier in the cycle now! I'd assume you ARE Oing, and try to confirm it by bloodwork in a week from now .Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++ Maura |
