Online OPK's
Ok, this may be a dumb question but oh well. Im gonna ask anyways. I have always bought the OPK's from like Walmart, they are the pee on a stick kind. Well, every month that I have used them and been on the Clomid I have got a positive OPK. This month I bought the ones online where you have the sterile cup and dip them in it like in the Dr's office. Well, I have not yet gotten a positive and it's way past time. I have done them on enough days too that I know I didn't miss detecting the surge. So, my question is "Is there a difference between peeing on a stick and the dip ones? Or do you think maybe this month I just didn't O?" Which would be weird because so far I have been.? Thanks for any input ladies!

Hi DM
No need to apologize for any question... that's what we're here for! What cd are you now? What cd do you typically get your surge and what cd do you typically O? Like Dina, I wouldn't think it matters how your urine gets onto the stick, whether stream or cup -- both should give the same result. The only question is the reliability of the brand of OPK. Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++ Maura |

Got a positive....
I am on cd 17 now. I have a 31 day cycle like clock work. I usually get my first positive OPK on cd 15, then O on or around 18. I am not sure this brand, but it is the first time I have used it. It doesn't have the name wrote on it to know. I ran out to Walmart and bought some stick ones and used it just a couple hours ago and it came back as a positive. So, maybe it was just the brand.
I guess I learned a good lesson. LOL. Thanks for the input though. I will stick with this brand from now on.! Thanks again! |

Hi DM: Glad to hear you're going to catch O! With a surge today, you could still O tomorrow, like usual, giving your usual length cycle
. Maybe had you tested with this brand a couple of days ago you would have seen your surge earlier? Oh well!Good luck and keep us posted++++++ Maura |

Thanks. I was a little worried because this cycle was just to make sure of the "aprox. O time" and to have an idea of dates, etc. Plus to have all the labs to make sure I really was O'ing etc etc. Since dh won't be home for leave until next cycle. We just wanted to make sure we had the dates right for him to be around! I was getting nervous when it was negative knowing this is the only chance I will have is next cycle until next year when he gets back home for good.
Now, I feel alot better and maybe next cycle will be our cycle. YEAH!!!! LOL. Thanks for the help.!

Hi again
. Since you're working out the timing of everything, just wanted to ask, how do you ascertain O? Do you temp? Just wondering because I noticed that you said that you usually get your surge on cd 15 and O around cd 18, which would make your O take place 72 hours post-surge. Since women will typically O 12-48 hours post-surge, just wondering if you are actually O-ing earlier than you think or whether you have a longer time between surge and O than other people. Didn't want you to wait to BMS or something if it turns out you are really ovulating earlier than you suspect!Good luck and I hope next cycle IS your cycle ! Good luck and keep us posted++++++++Maura |
