Exclamation LH Surge and side effects, anyone???

Ok, so I told clomid 50mg days 5-9... now this morning I got my peak on the FM stating O is very very close.... but I have had these troubles... anyone else??

Severe headache starting tues afternoon. Took something to help but it didn't and could not sleep. I woke up with one and then while at work severe dizziness .... I mean the room was spinning and I was so sick to my stomach . I did try to eat some fruit and drank lots of water. I was flushed hot ( no one else was) and then had a ++ OPK when I got home. :stickyvib

The only thing I could think was that my LH surge was just tripled to what I am used to and my body reacted like this crazyness. Does that theory make sence to anyone?? Anyone have strange things happen before / right after O???

Thanks a bunch!! Feeling better tonight, but geeeeezzzzz!

I am on cd 17 and had my +opk yesterday.Hopefully now that we are O the clomid crazies will pass and this will be our month!!! Good luck to you!! Chance

hi kat...i think you're line of thinking is correct.

any increase in hormones will cause your body to do whacky things. the body probably reacts differently depending on which hormone it is, but it makes sense.

i don't take clomid, but i've noticed in the last year or so, i get lots of symptoms (and i'm not talking about O pain, or CM) around O time. they're almost like PMS symptoms, where i might get a little queazy, definitely have cravings and excessive hunger, etc. luckily they only last a day or so, unlike PMS which can last for days

nah....i don't think it could be "it," but i think it could be indicative of some "hormonal" fluctuations. i have always been a 28 day'er....to the minute maura! in the last 12 months, i have gotten AF on cd 26 at least 8 times. additionally, i have felt O every month without fail for years. in the past 12 mos i have felt it maybe 3 times. i still get the CM changes, but i think it could be dangerous that i don't feel it, KWIM? ironically when i had my b/w done (about a year and a half ago) my doc basically came in laughing....telling me (in his words) you have the hormones of a "young chick." when i had them checked while i was still TTC mikie, my FSH was 5.4. so part of me says, things couldn't change that quickly, and part of me says i guess they gotta start somewhere. i went healthboards .com a few times, they have an awesome bunch of girls on the "menopuase" bb, just to read up about "real" ppl, as opposed to just getting info on the net. i was really surprised to see so many women (our age and younger!) with a host of peri-menopausal symptoms. my sister was dx as peri at 37, right before she got pg with my niece

anyway....not trying to depress you maura...i just never realized how many bodily issues fall into this category. i have some weird bodily issues since mikie's been born. most notebly, GI changes....BIG "symptom." intermittant muscle aches, AF coming a few days earlier than it used to...so i guess i'm starting to chalk it up to that. next time i go to the gyn, i'm gonna ask her to do my B/W and tell me where i am...KWIM?

I agree... my cycle has really changed too... I've been having 25 day cycles too... 26 was always my shortest, but I used to be prone to longer, rather than shorter cycles (like 29-34 or even 36 day cycles)....

What kind of GI changes? I've had GERD (symptom -- constant lump in throat) which I noticed when ds was 5 months old (so I've had it over 4 years now)... Prilosec doesn't touch it.

Hmm......

maura......i fear you might thinnk i'm crazy.....first thing...i started burping like crazy when i was pg with mikie and haven't stopped since. i get heartburm more frequently, but zantac75 knocks it right out, so i guess it's moderate? sometimes tums will do it too and i won't need zantac. i constantly have fizzing coming up my throat, it doesn't burn or taste, so it's not acid, but i can "hear" it. sometimes when i'm laying in bed watching TV (and it's fairly quiet) i can hear little tiny bubbles coming up in my throat. i've had the occassional "lump" in my throat as well. that's a big gerd symptom too, and can also be caused by post nasal drip, which i have also

i've had my suspicions since mikie was born about having a hiatal hernia. a HH will produce the same syptoms as gerd, and is treated the same way.

i know that millions of pl have gerd, but i'm a bit of a "worrier" and sometimes wonder if i should check it out to rule out something more serious. i'm a doctor phob tho...so i usually don't toddle off to a doc unless i'm dying

i think cycle changes fluctuate a lot (at this age) from person to person. typically the cycles get closer together, and AF becomes heavier. BUT, some women have the opposite, OR, they'll gt AF closer together without a change in flow. my poor sister gets AF every 3 weeks and she bleeds really bad for 7-10 days. so i'm not really complaining about the every 26 days.
