Possible Side Effects Of Prometrium

Hi !
I am on Prometrium 200mgX 2 daily vaginally.I had read about its possible side effects being nausea , breast tenderness , moodswings but does anyone know if it causes lack of sleep? Thats what i have been experiencing since 4 days since i started it. I go of to sleep and then within 3 to 4 hours i am just wide awake and i cannot go back to sleep.I find it strange because Prometrium supposedly causes sleepiness. .This is adversely affecting my BBT charting.I am so confused

I'm not familiar with what you described... Prometrium definitely made me sleepy at inconvenient times. Although I would say that the vaginal suppositories affected me much less than the pills. I'm sorry you're having such trouble staying asleep! When I experience that, it's usually stress-related. Could it be that your decision to start on the suppositories or the stage you are in the IF process has caused you to experience more stress than prior to the suppositories? Sorry I can't be more helpful. Maybe some others can.

Hi Lauren !
I think i am pretty worked up because i am going through that 2 week wait period.I thought maybe the medicine was causing me to wake up at night and my hubby dear also said it is my overactive mind not the medicine.But i guess it is after all the stress.Thanks so much for replying.

twinkle....i was on the same dose as you, but honestly was pretty lucky in that i had no side affects. i also get the pattern (waking up and being wide awake) you describe each month within a week before AF starts. so if i had gotten when i was pg, it wouldn't have raised any flags for me.

i'm definitely in agreement with your dh, it could be your restless mind. the 2ww is so stressful and distracting. i hope it passes quickly for you! good luck.

Twinkle - OMG me too! I haven't slept thru the night since retrieval night! I mean I'm awake in the middle of the night for 3 -4 hours! I'm taking 200mg 3x times a day.
