Ovulation Detection???

I was reading about different methods of determining O and was wondering if anyone has these products and likes them, I also BBT but was wanting to do something in addition to that.
Clear Plan Easy Fertility Monitor
Saliva Monitor
Salivary Ferning Tests

Just wondering if that stuff actually works..
Thanks,
Jena

Hi Jena: Out of those products, I think the ClearPlan Monitor is the best and most reliable. Saliva ferning is cool (and I've looked at my saliva under a microscope around O and it really DOES change), but I think the ferning is harder to decipher and is less precise because it can last for a period of days around O -- as opposed to the Monitor, which is designed to give you just 2 Peak Days, or something like that. I've never used the Monitor, but it's like the regular old OPKs, which I've used a ton of (and of OPKs, I prefer the ClearPlan Easy brand)!

Just my thoughts.

Did you ever talk to your doctor today?

Good luck+++++++++++++
Maura

Hi Hopefulj........I have heard ++++++ comments about the Clear Plan Monitor. When I was in TTC I didn't used any of the products you mentioned. I did the BBT, the CM check as well as the OPK's and all these methods worked for me. I was dx Unexplained and I always O'd on CD14 and a regular 28CD gal so it was easy to determine O date.

Good luck and +++++++++++thoughts.

Thanks Stacy Ann & Maura---It would have to be the most expensive thing on the list---LOL I'll have to get one I guess, they are soooo expensive. I have used the Clear Blue Easy sticks before, but I guess I never used them on the right days.

Thanks,
Jena

jena...i used the CPFM and althpugh you're right in that it's the most expensive, the truth is, if you're using (diposable) OPK's, it will be more economical in the long run to purhase the monitor. especially if you're not a regular O'd and you go through a lot of sticks. i think it's a great tool in TTC. good luck!

OK... one word... E-BAY!! Bought my FM actually used and reset it ( yes you can 100% reset them.... I have the site if anyone needs it) I thought the dang thing did not work... until I O 7 days later than normal!! Contact me if you want more info! I watched many auctions for weeks before I bought one ( I knew I had 3 weeks before I was needing it) I still use OPKs at night... maybe after a few more cycles I will trust the FM more!! But 100 including shipping and 30 strips worked well for me!! Best Wishes!
