a gyn problem....not ttc related

Ok, so I'm back with a question so I hope you don't mind I barge in on my ol' stomping grounds LOL! I have a question and I don't want to phone the doc and bother him as of just yet b/c I work for a Doc's office and I know how it can be with all the phone calls you have to deal with. I surely don't want to call and seem like a whiner if you kwim?? I am on cd18 today and my af started on JULY 16th. Normal af btw, so here's the story. I had my yearly pap and all last Tuesday the 26th and this past Saturday the 30th (cd16) I started spotting (4days after my dr.s visit) w/ cramping, same on Sunday (cd 17) more spotting and cramping monday and today but, cramping getting bad like af type cramps. the spotting has been red, pink, brown...you know all the colors in the rainbow lol! SOrry TMI!! I have definitely not ovulated yet but, geez...I'm hurting like af. So do you think this is serious or what?? WHat would you do?? He suggested putting me on the pill to only let me have a period 4 x's a year for convienence not for any problems. I don't know what to do. I hate to call and bother but, seriously what could it be this time??? He said that my exam looked fine but, no test results from pap for another week. TIA if you got this far!!

Hi Sarah: Sorry I missed this post!

How are you doing now? I would definitely call your doctor if you haven't yet. I wonder if the pap irritated your cervix or something? You mentioned that you hadn't ovulated yet... are you temping and that's how you know? If you were ovulating, I'd think maybe the spotting had to do with that, possibly.

Let us know how you're feeling now and if you did call the doctor...

Hey Maura! still some spotting and some occasional cramps. This makes 4 or 5 days now and I know I haven't o'd yet from temps and lack of my wild sex drive (LOL) and ewcm sooooo.... that leaves me to wonder what is really up in there?? I think o might be around the corner though. I have long cycles so who knows when I'll o but, my cycles have been running 30 something to 50 days or so. I just hate to call and waste their time and be a whiner you know! But, I thought about that too having my cervix irritated from the swabbing (ewwww!) but, I usually bleed at that time which I didn't and the cramps??? what's that all about, I could understand the bleeding if irritation is all but, cramps? Oh well! I guess I'll just wait it out a few days and see. Thanks for getting back to me. Hope life is great up there! Sure is hot down here!

Hi Sarah sorry you are feeling so achey According to my OB/Gyn it is very normal for the cervix to appear and actually be irritated from time to time. It is not unusual to have some spotting after a pap. Seeing that the cramping has gone on for a few days I would give the doc a call. Better to be safe than sorry sweetie. Please keep us posted ok.

Hi Sarah: How are you doing now? I hope you have called the doctor by now if you are still cramping and spotting! Don't worry about being perceived to be a pest... first of all, you're not; second of all, that's what they're there for; and third of all, better to make sure you are healthy!
