opk and when to bm?

Okay girls, I have never been good at this opk thing and knowing when to bm. (I am on the bench this month due to cysts and giving it the good ole fashion try...you never know.). Anyways, here is what I have done.

cd10- opk neg.
cd11- opk neg.
cd12- opk neg.
cd13- opk neg. in am....opk slight pos. in pm
cd14- opk neg. in am....opk slight pos. in pm? BM'd in am
cd15- opk slight pos. in am... BM'd in am
cd16- opk darker pos. in am (the darkest I have gotten so far) BM'd in pm
cd17- opk neg. in am (this is today)

Okay, so when exactly do I ovulate and for how many more days should I BM? I get so confused for some reason on this. I assume I will ovulate either sometime today or tom. right?

Also, do you think I should use my progesterone supp. once a day during this 2ww that I have left from last month? Would it hurt anything? Last time I still started AF on them even...

Thanks!
abi

Without seeing associated temps, I'd say you ovulated yesterday or will some time today or tomorrow at the absolute latest.

As for the progesterone...I don't think it would hurt anything. Do you normally have a problem with implantation? If so, then definitely use the progesterone. If not, it may not be needed.

Well, looking back at my calendars- I would usually start spotting for AF around 12 days past ovulation...so maybe that is my problem? Maybe I am right there about to implant, but then AF starts...I think I will go ahead and start my supp. maybe tom. night? I am not doing the temps. thing- it just drives me nuts..so I am soley dep. on these opk's and CM... Anyone else have any thoughts or info.? So, I should BM today and tom. and maybe the next day as well?

As long as your dh doesn't have sperm count issues, I would definitely BMS today and tomorrow as well.

Yeah, we will...well hopefully. lol. Does anyone have any thoughts about the prog. supp. and the amount of days I usually have after ovulation? Do you think that might be my problem...not having a long enough LPhase?

abi...i had LPD that was dx thru and endo biopsy. spotting early can be a flag, but there's really no way of knowing for sure unless you're tested. i had to use prog supp's but it's very important not to start them until you're sure O has already occurred. my OB told me to start them anywhwre between 2-4 dpo. as it happened the month i conceived my ds i wasn't able to start them until 4 dpo (because i was away and didn't take them) and all was fine. good luck!

Thanks for the info. dkny (the clothing brand? ... So, I am going to bm tonight and then tom. night and then start the supp. the next night...I got the darkest surge line on my opk at cd16 so that would be cd19...I think I will do them once a day at night..I hate those things! So I guess I should continue them until about cd30- cd32? if I make it to that? That would be around 14dpo? What do you guys think? How long should I do them...I think I o'd today probably...sometime..maybe right now...lol. and that is cd17 today....SO 17 +14 =31... What do you guys think? My normal cycle varied before all of this IF stuff...it was anywhere between...26 days to 33 days...but mostly right around 28...but I think I ovulate a few days later than the mid cycle thing...so that is why I am thinking it might not have enough time to implant before AF comes? Let me know what you think.

Hi there. When you say you got your darkest surge on your OPK on cd 16, was the result line the same darkness as or darker than the reference line? I ask because I noticed that you recorded "slight positives" in the days leading up to cd 16 ... but with an OPK, it's either positive or it's not; there's no such thing as a faint positive (as there is with an HPT)... if the result line is lighter than the reference line, then it's considered a negative.

Assuming your cd 16 OPK was a true positive, then ovulation should be yesterday, today or tomorrow....

With no male factor issues, it's a good idea to BMS the first day of your surge and then for the next two days (in this case, cd 16, cd 17 and cd 18)... if you are also temping, then you'd BMS until your temp rose...

Yes, I'd start the progesterone supps on cd 20 (assume cd 18 and add 2 days) and I'd take them until cd 32.

A normal LP is 12-16 days, so if you don't start spotting until 12 dpo, then you might be fine on the progesterone front. Still, I would investigate further, by having a 7 dpo progesterone check to make sure your prog. is high enough. And I would keep temping and watch your cycle carefully to see when AF comes in relation to O.

Best of luck and keep us posted++++++++

Well, I have had prog. checks before...but always when I had been on fertility meds. and was put on prog. supp. No, I take that back. My first IUI was only with clomid and no prog. supp. and they did a check and said all was fine? Who knows? I don't know what to think or if I should use the supp. or not?

Abi: If you have them, it won't hurt to use them... but if you don't want to and your doctor hasn't said you really need them for ttc purposes, then you don't have to... it's whatever makes you feel comfortable!

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++
