CD 11...start opks?

Well this is my first time doing an OPK so bear with me as i struggle though this.

Here is my chart. I had a huge temp rise with clomid but seems to have settled a bit. Its a few degrees higher then before i took the clomid but i guess thats alright?!

Should i start OPKS this afternoon?? Had a follie yesterday that was 13-14mm. I think i read that they grow 1-2mm a day and mature ones would be 18mm+?

Sheesh..this stuff...

I read somewhere that if you have a perfect 28 day cycle that you should start OPK on CD 12....

Here's where I bought my strips...they have a chart for when to start. Good luck! I hope this is your month!

julie....i would probably start cd11/12....but keep in mind that you might go thru a lot of sticks this cycle as clomid tends to delay O.

the temp rise during your clomid days is totally normal. your temps look to be right where thery should be now (pre-O).

good luck!!!

HI Julie, I agree with DKNY. Clomid will delay O as well as lengthen your cycle so you will go through more OPK's than normal. Accordong to Fertility Plus Clomid (Serophene/clomiphene citrate) can cause a false positive in OPKs if taken too soon after finishing the prescription. According to most of the manufacturers you should wait at least 3 days before using an OPK. If you take Clomid days 3-7 you can begin testing on day 10. If you take it 5-9, you should wait until day 12.
Continuing testing until you detect a surge or have a sustained temperature rise (at least 4 days, and at 0.4 degrees higher than the previous six temps.).

Good luck

You can use a regular digital thermometer (even an old-fashioned glass one will work, but digital is easier)....

As for what to look for with O, you look for a rise in temp that is at least .2 degree higher than your previous 6 temps before the rise.

Here is an example:

cd 9 97.5
cd 10 97.0
cd 11 97.3
cd 12 97.1
cd 13 97.4
cd 14 97.2
cd 15 97.8

Your O would be on cd 14 since your temp rose .3 higher than your temp on cd 9. The fact that you had temp rises on cd 11 and cd 13 don't count because the rise wasn't high enough relative to the other temps.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions!

++++++++++++
