Help! Can't figure out if I O'd!
Help!! I have no idea if I ovulated or not! I normally O around day 14 or 15 without Clomid. This was my second round of Clomid this month, and last month I O’d at the normal time. This month I opted to NOT get b/w and u/s because they said that I responded very well the first cycle and this probably wouldn’t tell me anything new, and because I needed a break from needles and tests. BTW…I have unexplained infertility…I O on my own and get AF regularly...I just don't get pg. Today is CD18…I was doing OPK so that I would know when to have BMS. We BMS on CD12, 13, 14, 15, and the morning of 17. I got a positive OPK on day 14. I have not been temping for the past couple of month, but I know how my body is when I O. So for the past two days I temped just to make sure that I did O. Well my temp still has not risen much!! What the heck??!! So I am freaking out thinking that maybe the OPK was wrong and I haven’t O’d yet. Am I crazy? What do you think? Should we just continue to BMS until it shifts? Ackkkk…you would think that I would know what to do since I have been TTC for so long! But since we have not had any success…I am beginning to doubt myself.
Thanks for any comments, Jen

Hi Jen: What were your temps on the two days that you took it? And what is it usually before O and after O?
I usually trust temps over OPKs, but in this case where you haven't been temping all cycle, I might be inclined to trust your OPK more. It's possible that your pre-O temps were all lower than usual, making your post-O temps lower than usual too, but still higher than your pre-O temps. THAT SAID ... I would continue to BMS through cd 21 (and past that if you have ANY doubt about O) just because some women do ovulate later on Clomid (even if your last Clomid cycle O was around cd14-15 it doesn't mean it will stay that way for subsequent cycles) and the OPK might have been a false surge. Better to err on the side of caution and keep BMSing than to stop too soon and possibly miss O!Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++ Maura |

Hi Maura,
Thanks. Yesterday my temp was 97.71 and today it was 97.57. Normally before O it would be around 97.5ish and after O usually it heads up to 98.1-98.3. I'm wondering if today could have been a weird low temp b/c DH had all of the windows open and it was pretty chilly in the bedroom. Either way I will take your advise and continue BMS through CD21!! Thanks for talking me down...lol. I have been so much more emotional this round of Clomid...way more than the first month. DH told me that if I am not pg this cycle he is moving out for the week that I have pms! LOL. Jenny

Hi Jenny: It could have been the chilly room or maybe it was a fallback temp. If you had a ++OPK on cd 14, then you might have ovulated on cd 16, with a temp rise on cd 17 to 97.71 (although I know that's low for you for post-O) and a fallback today. Or you could not have ovulated yet
(like how I have lots of explanations but no actual answers?! )....Anyway, you'll be fine whatever's going on if you just keep on BMSing for a bit longer! Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++ Maura |
