Progesterone Level of 35-had IUI, Clomid, HCG

I took 100 mg of Clomid from day 4-9 and then had IUI on 13th along with a 10,000 HCG shot. Today (day 20) had blood test-progesterone was 35. Doctor said level was good. Last month my PG level was only 8.5, so I am hopeful. Anyone ever have a high progesterone level? Do you think this means I am pregnant.

Hi guys: I had a progesterone level of "over 35" when I was pg with ds... having a high prog. level is certainly good for pg (Brandy, not sure why your doctor wouldn't want prog. to be any higher than 15?? ... my doctor wanted it to be at least over 10 and her partners wanted over 15 and 20 respectively) ...but unfortunately, you can't tell whether you are pg from a good progesterone test (prog. can be high even in a non-pg cycle) ...

BUT! Let's hope that this IS a pg cycle.... when is your beta (if you have one scheduled)?

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++

What is a Beta Test

What is a Beta Test? The doctor told me to call if I get my period or dont get my period. I hate all this waiting! Isnt it possible for them to give me a blood test to see if I am pregnant or is it too early?

Hi Melissa: A beta test is a blood test that measures your beta HcG (the pg hormone). Many doctors won't give it until you have had a ++HPT and your doctor might be one of them. It is too early to have a beta now, even if your doctor would give you one, because you are still in the implantation window right now. Implantation takes place between 6-12 dpo so you usually wouldn't get a beta until 12 dpo or later (unless you've already had a ++HPT earlier than that and can convince your doctor).

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++

Good luck! I am on my 2nd month seeing a Fertility Doctor. My gynocologist was too laid back he kept telling me just have sex and monitor your ovulation you-ll get pregnant in no time. I was so frustrated I just knew something was wrong because it had been 8 months. I finally just made an appt with a Fertlity Doctor. My first Fertlity doctor was so awful, after 3 appts I switched an am happy with the one I have now. My husband has a low sperm count and I have problems ovulating. I just had IUI for the 2nd time so I hope it works this time. I just hate all this waiting!

Melissa-I hate to tell you this but......my prog level last cycle was over 60 and I was not pg-my dr was suprised but 2hrs after I got the neg blodd pg test AF came to visit. I guess the higher your prog the thicker the lining in your uterus which is very good in itself. I also know that any level over 15 is good for a medicated cycle-its means you had a good O so that's good too. I was bummed that I had such a great level and it all went to waste-oh well-on to the next cycle w/o clomid. Good luck!!

No, you are right-the higher definitely the better!!! Just don't get your hopes up too high. W/IUI tho you probably have a better chance-dh & I only do the BMS thing!! So don't feel frustrated: that prog result is great so you should be excited!! Take care.

I am not pregnant-I am so frustrated

2nd IUI didnt work. I am thinking that the doctor didn't time my ovulation correctly because my cycle is 32 days and they inseminated me on Day 13 don't you think that is way to early?
