Now I know...

how long it takes for the HCG to leave my system. I had HCG on 6/10,IUI on 6/11, HCG on 6/12, IUI on 6/13. I have been testing everyday for the last 4 days, I'm know I'm a sick person, ha ha!!! They have all said "pregnant", even did one last night and it was +, this morning, it was "not pregnant" so how long would I have to wait to see a + again? Has anyone been this obsessive and can help me answer that part of it? Last cycle, I started spotting and AF came on this day in the cycle so I am starting to get a little excited but trying to not get my hopes up too much!!! Rebecca

Hi Rebecca: I would wait until 14 days past your IUI on 6/13 -- i.e., 6/27 -- until you test again (can you wait that long?!)... or at least until you can hope to see a ++HPT from a pg ... implantation takes place between 6-12 dpo, and if you implant on the later side, it will take a few days for the HcG to build up to detectable leves...

GOOD LUCK and let us know how you make out!

Maura, thanks for your reply!!! I really don't know if I can wait another whole week...guess I really don't have a choice. I got a great deal on HPT at a local pharmacy, they are close to expiration so I have about 7 left. I don't think I'll be able to not test. I mean I would have to get DH to hide them and then I would probably go nuts looking for them. From your post, I could literally not even have had implantation yet...wow, hadn't thought of that. I thought for sure it had happened already if it was going to. Another thing I'm curious about is that my last cycle, I actually started AF on the 8th day past the 2nd IUI. Isn't that a little early? Today is that same day in this cycle so I'm analyzing every twinge but trying not to stress. Rebecca

Hi Rebecca: Depending on when you ovulated, you could definitely not have implanted yet! It's early still! Do you happen to know what day you ovulated last month? If you ovulated the same day as your 2nd IUI, then yes, 8 dpo is early for AF to start because it means that your LP was only 7 days. A normal LP is 12-16 days long (to give the egg time to implant between 6-12 dpo) and 10-11 days is considered borderline ok and less than 10 days is considered too short for implantation. If your first IUI last month was 2 days earlier and you ovulated the same day as that IUI, then your LP still would have been only 9 days long (if I'm calculating correctly).

Have you ever had your progesterone tested at 7 dpo to see if it's where it should be? Or had an endometrial biopsy done to see whether you have a luteal phase deficiency? One thing you might do if you haven't already is take your basal body temp to see if you can pinpoint ovulation and determine exactly how long your luteal phase really is.

ANYWAY, maybe you won't need all this and you'll end up pg this month... I Hope so!

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++
