Question about sausage in the 2ww

DH and my FIL made their own sausage from wild hog and deer that dh killed himself. I have read that you shouldn't eat sausage when you are pregnant. Do you think it would be safe to eat this sausage? I know normally you shouldn't eat anything from like a deli, right? Could that be what they mean?

I wouldn't really worry. They are concerned during pg with undercooked meats. You can have deli meats if they are hot.
Enjoy--sounds yummy!!

Just like when you are not pregnant, it is recommended that you not eat a lot of processed foods. They simply aren't as healthy. Eating a well balanced diet with lots of fresh fruits, veggies, and lean cuts of meat is always preferable. Having said that, I certainly ate my share of hotdogs, sausage, and fried foods when I was pregnant. The key word here is moderation. So, no, it should not be an issue to eat that sausage.
