Lightbulb I'm FREAKING! (How accurate is FF?)

Okay, I'm losing it! How accurate is Fertility Friend at pin-pointing O? I'm going to give you all my temps and any CM info I recorded, see what you all think (bear with me, it's been a kinda long cycle):

97.97-CD1 (AF)
97.4
97.51
97.71
97.23 - last day spotting
97.13
97.41
97.29 - ewcm
97.50 - ewcm
97.5
97.5
97.29
97.39
97.02
----- (missed this day)
97.39
97.39
96.97
97.27
97.57
97.03
97.37 - lots of ewcm
97.52 - lots of ewcm
97.30 - no recorded cm info
----- (missed)
97.29 - *CD 26*
----- (missed)
97.58
----- (missed)
97.34 - *CD 30*
97.99
----- (missed)
98.09
97.94
----- (missed)
----- (missed)
98.43
98.33
98.42
----- (missed today, woke up late and couldn't reach the therm!)

I have to apologize for all the missed temps. My hubby was switched to 3rd shift and we all went through the stomach flu! So that's why I missed all of those, not by choice!

Okay here's the deal. FF says I have a coverline of 97.49, and I O'd on CD 26 (the first temp with **). But here's why I'm freaking, I thought I o'd on CD 30. Although my only sign of really abundant ewcm was a few days before CD 26, when FF thinks I o'd. Which all of this means I had the bleeding after intercourse at 10dpo, and I am now 14 dpo!!! Aaahhhhh! I don't know what to think right now!

Please let me know what you think, I'm dieing here!!!!!!!

PS. and my temps have been really high for me, as you can see, during the last 3 days. I've never seen my temps that high before. Was it a third thermal shift at 11dpo (the day after the bleeding)?

shavon....i can only give you my best "guestimate" due to the missing temps. it looks like (based on your temps) that you O'd on cd 30. your CL (again, can only use the temps you have) would then be 97.68. this would make today, 10 dpo.

unfortunately, some of those temps you missed are especially crucial. the missing temps would more than likely differenciate between O on cd 26 and cd 30.

also, even with the missing temps, i don't understand how FF is drawing a CL of 97.49. the highest temp preceding the day they say you O'd is 97.52. that would make your CL 97.62.

don't forget, the software is only as good as the info you feed it. no doubt, it's picking up your O on cd 26 b/c it's using temps in conjunction with the info you provided about the EWCM. here's what you could do....go back into your FF program and remove the ewcm info and ask it to recalculate your O info based on just temps alone. if it comes up with cd 30, then i would go with that as your O day for the purposes of knowing how many DPO you are.

good luck

Hi Shavon, I also think that it looks like a possible O on cd 30 and don't understand how FF could arrive at a cd 26 O (for the reasons Dina noted and also if your coverline is 97.49, then your temp on cd 30 would be below it)... as for FF's reliability, it's hard to say without hard data, but I seem to find myself disagreeing with FF's calculation of O dates and calculations more than I agree with them (for what that's worth)....

So, did you BMS around cd 30?! My fingers are crossed for you whenever you ovulated... please keep in touch and good luck!

Well, I hate to say it. But we weren't trying to get preg this month, in fact we were using otc bc. I was freaking because we did have intercourse on cd26 and forgot to use the bc. I guess I will wait and find out. I'm not even going to suspect anything as far as preg goes until 2 weeks from now without af. Thanks for the replies!

Hey Shavon, I knew you had used birth control but thought I'd remembered at least one episode without it!

Well, let's see what happens now! Good luck and keep us posted++++++

Yeah, that was what I had mentioned on CD26. If it was a CD26 O, there's a good possibility of preg. If it was CD30, then probably not as we've used bc ever since CD26. Thanks again!

Okay, I went in and took out the ewcm on CDs 22 & 23. It then said I hadn't O'd at all. I just wish I had gotten those temps on CD27 & 29, that would tell the truth. I have had my temp drop below my coverline after O before, so I can't say that just because I had the 97.34 temp on CD30 means I couldn't have o'd. With those 2 missing temps it does leave a question, I'm still expecting af to come though. We'll see!

No, not at all. In fact, thinking back on that weekend (CD26 fell on sunday of memorial day weekend), I was expecting O to happen because of the incredibly abundant ewcm. I almost always see O within a few days after I get the ewcm. I was surprised when I didn't get my typical shift until 7 days later.

I just don't know. With those missing temps (daggonnit), I really can't say what's going on. I usually have 2-3 days of only slightly high temps (97.7 - 97.9 typically), before it then goes to 98.0-98.2. Although last cycle I did have temps of 97.53 twice after O. I'm really thrown by my current high temps, it was 98.48 today! It seems to keep going up!

As I've said before, I'm still waiting for af. It's kind of odd though, for no apperant reason I took a hpt Saturday when I got up, even though I knew and was even saying to myself at the time - there's just no way. And then Sunday I find out that there might be a chance! How funny is that!

I had decided to take it because I was having no signs of af coming (or better said, that O occured), you guys know me pretty well and I always get sore bbs. I have no sign of sore bbs. Well, okay, except for yesterday night. When I started freaking I think I sqeezed them to death all day trying to see if they were sore indicating af was coming!! But today they're fine again. Last week I had even thought about posting in here to see if you can get a temp shift without actually o'ing. I ALWAYS get sore bbs about 3-4 days after O, that along with my cm is extremely accurate in telling when I o'd. Temps are always just the confirmation. I haven't had sore bb's at all since my temp shift.

Well, who knows, this might all end up being a practical joke from God! I've heard that happens a lot! He knows what's best I guess!

Thanks for listening to me yap! Have a great day everyone! And eggies to all, along with sticky vibes!

Hey, just wanted to write a quick note. I just looked at all my charted cycles. I've never had a pre-o temp over 97.57, but I have had post-O temps as low as 97.53. Maybe a CD26 O afterall.
