Hi gals! (spotting 6dpo?)

Hi everyone How are you all doing? I know it's been awhile, I've still been on this site just not on this bb. I hope everyone is doing great!

Well, I finally O'd. Although as I said previously we aren't trying anymore. So we did use otc birthcontrol. But I noticed spotting about 4-5 dpo, realllllyyy light, like where you have to look twice. Well last night (6dpo) dh and I had intercourse, and afterward I was bleeding. I continued to bleed last night, but by this morning it was gone. What the heck is that?!?!? I've been temping so I know for sure when I o'd, and I don't think af is coming this early. In fact I have a tendancy to start af late. So now I'm a little scared, although I don't think preg would have any effect this early if it was even implanted. What do you think is going on? Maybe I should mention this at my doc appt at the end of the month.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day and upcoming weekend! Thanks

hi shavon...glad to hear you're still around.

i think there are a few different reasons for mid-cycle bleeding. could be an irritated cervix, residual from O (which can sometimes cause spotting,) an imbalance of hormones, w/d from any type of IF meds, etc. if it's a once in a blue moon happening, then i wouldn't worry too much about it.

seeing as tho you're going to the doc, i would blow it by him/her, and see what they advise.

Lightbulb 6dpo

hi shavon,
i took your advice and came to visit this room... anyway, i am 10dpo and i haven't had any spotting or any thing. i think that it is probably a little too early to start your AF if you are at day 6; but what do i know. i am like you, i have a tendency to have AF a little later in the cycle (if at all), rather than early, so perhaps the spotting is from something like Dina suggested. if it doesn't go away, then maybe you should go to the doc, before the end of the month, just to make sure. let me know how it all goes. take care and no over-exerting yourself; maybe you should rest, it might make the spotting go away. but then again, what do i know. lynanne.

does anyone know?

Does anyone know if bloating and lower abdomen discomfort w/minimal pain symptoms of early pregnancy? My doc suggested I do a HPT this weekend, only if AF doesn't come by Sunday. If I don't HPT this weekend, then doc said to go in to the office for a pregnancy test, via BW, (providing AF stays home and doesn't come to visit me). Is there anything that I'm missing here? I am so new to the normal cycles w/normal ovulation thing; I've been using the injectables, (this cycle only), so, I am not sure what to expect and what not to expect. Anyone gone through this before? Is there anything that I should be looking out for, in the meantime? Please help to inform me. Thanks. Lynanne.

lynanne....i have no personal experience with injectables, so i'm not of much help there. but, bloating and low abdominal discomfort are symtoms that apply to both PMS and pg. i honestly was unable to distinquish between the discomforts that come along with early pg and regular pre-AF discomforts.

how many dpo will you be this weekend?

Hi Shavon! Good to hear from you. Dina has already answered your spotting question, so I'm just saying hello really. Is there any chance you might have conceived this month or did you use birth control each time? And are you still temping? Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing, ok?

Lynanne: Welcome to the bb. As you probably know, it's easy to get a false negative when testing early, so if you see a negative this weekend, it doesn't mean you should give up hope. Implantation takes place between 6-12 dpo, so if you test at 12 dpo and are implanting that same day, an HPT almost certainly would be negative! So, keep that squarely in mind if you test this weekend (esp. since you mentioned you have long cycles, which might mean either you ovulate later than usual or have a longer luteal phase).

GOOD LUCK to both and keep us posted++++++++
Maura

Hi Maura!

We were using bc within the days right after O, and we did not have intercourse for I'd say 2-3 days before O. I'm not %100 sure if we used bc the time before O. I am still temping, and this morning got a reading of 98.43! I'm not quite sure what to think or feel if there's a possiblity of preg. I'd be happy, but on the other hand we did just take out a loan on a 4-seater Camaro! I'm pretty sure I'm not. But you know how it is, whether you're hoping for that ++ or just the oppisite you always seem to find signs that make it look like you are preg! So I'm taking this in stride and not worrying too much, we'd be okay either way.

Lynanne - I sure hope you get your positive this weekend. But if not, remember not to give up hope. I have really low levels of hcg, so I will not get a positive hpt until I am 5-6 weeks along (or 3-4 weeks post O). Everyone is different and will get their positive at different times, although most see a + at around 14dpo. So 12dpo is still a little early. Above all else - DON'T give up hope until af arrives. It's not over until the fat lady sings! Good Luck, I'll be thinking about you!
