Question OPK - what to expect

This is my first month using OPKs and I thought I was ready until I started testing yesterday and I feel so uneducated. Main question - will or when will the 2nd line start showing up? just before LH surge or will it get darker and darker over a weeks time or what? I'm not too surprised that on cd9 there was no second line but I'm just wondering what to expect.

Also - about this robitusim thing. I haven't started taking that - should I start now or can i wait until a line starts to appear. Thanks!!

I start the Robitussin cd10. I take 1tsp 4x's a day until the day after O. I know others take less than this-I am on Clomid so my Dr wants me to take this much. This month while doing OPK the second line was very light until my surge day and then it was as dark as the reference line-it was very apparent!! Some months I have no second line one day then its faint the day before and then +++ the next day. Be sure not to drink a ton of water before hand-it can dilute your results. Good luck!!

robitussin should be started 3-4 days before expected O. so if you're a fairly regular 14 day O'er, i would start it around cd 10-11.

as for the OPK's, jules explained it well. you might see ligher lines for a couple of days leading up to your surge and get your dark line when you actually surge.

the experts recommend testing with OPK's in the afternoon bewteen 12-4pm, as this is when most women pick up their surge.

good luck!
