This is probably WAY too much info but, i just got off of antibiotics for a nasty sinus infection and swollen tonsils. EVERY time i use antibiotics i get a yeast infection
. Its awful. It burns and itches and i swear you have wild thoughts of finding a steel wire brush somewhere and scratching until you hit bone =P. I dont really have any discharge only some dryish cottage cheese looking stuff (yup..nasty..i know). The main things are the burn and itch. I remember when i first got one i KNEW what it was from others descriptions id heard before. Currently using a three day cream to cure it from the grocery store. They do have one day treatments and seven day ones. I figure the three day one isnt as harsh as the one day one and i sure in the heck dont want it hanging around for seven days. Clomid and Met doesnt cause yeast infections. I know folks sometimes can get them from sex because of how boy parts are made and all the handling of them to uhm..pee and the like. I know the box instructions say that if its the first time you've had one its best to see your gyn. I never did. I was with my hubby and was just off of antibiotics so i pretty much knew for sure it was just a yeast infection and it cleared up nicely with over the counter stuff. Take care and good luck! |

i've had 2 YI, one was wrose than the other. it starts off as a mild itch that turns to a burning itch. the only discharge i had was a very watery one. everyone is different.
if you use an OTC remedy such as monistat....get the 7 day treatment. also, it's a good practice to use acidophilus while taking an AB. it helpd keep the good/bad bacteria in balance.

Thanks ladies for the reply
Julie, What cream did you get? I had a slight itchy feeling once in a while(one area) But I had clumpy(like cottage cheese discharge) the past few days. But I only notice it when we have BMS...The rest of the time I don't notice. I thought it was some sort of phase of ovulation,(being I don't OV on my own) I didn't know what to expect. And guess what the horrible thing is? I did OPK yesterday, thought I was close to OV cause the lines were closer in color than they have been... But today they are the SAME! And that means I am OV'ing ... Guess I won't be getting a BFP from PT this month...huh? This suppose to be a happy day for me.....Awwww I guess next month...Just what I wanted to hear....Next month I will be all stressed cause my dh has to have surgery on 6/30 Last edited by honey2ahero; 05-29-2005 at 10:16 AM. |

=( GAH...dangit..doesnt it figure!! I just got the generic Kroger brand, the three day one like i said. Even after the first treatment last night i am feeling soooo much better today..
I'm not sure how uhm...it changes the chemistry or whatever of the vagina..but for me...id get me a little medicine syringe, sterile cup, and help dh =P It couldnt hurt and you definitely wouldnt want to have bms, since dh could come down with an itch of his own. Just make sure you do it before you do the cream. Say early evening and then do the cream at bedtime like it says. Not the most romantic or conventional way of doing it, but id hate to not atleast try it if i was ovulating. But then im a little neurotic when we ttc heh.. |

Hi Honey2ahero,
Sorry to hear about your YI - i had thrush once do not know if that is classified as a YI- well what i noticed was that my private parts kind of went white and lots if itching. I was given Canesten and it did really help and was advised not to use perfumed soap. When my Gynae thought i wascoming down with another infection after a smear test, he suggested that my DH applies some cream on his P as well. I know it is bad timing because of your O Even my husband has to have an op next month so we will be in the same boat.......take careZizzie |

Hey ladies,
Thanks for the reply! I called my Dr today and told him what was happening. He said to buy this cream use it for 7 days and if it is a YI it will be gone... In other words better luck next month... And on top of all that DH & I are fighting....Great Now he thinks "Oh maybe we aren't meant to have another" and Maybe it is better we don't try... I AM NOT DOWN WITH THAT AT ALL! And told him so too...Needless to say I am really hurt and depressed tonight... I can't help to feel that maybe he doesn't want another baby, and he would only have one to please me....Our conversation tonight, makes it really hard for me when I do find out I am ...I told him that is gonna be a happy thing for me, and now I am not sure how to tell him without him feeling unhappy about it...He said he wouldn't be unhappy...But I can help but to wonder Cindy |

Cindy... isn't it always something?! ARGGH!
But don't write this cycle off... you've been having regular BMS right? If so, then even if you didn't BMS today, it could still work out depending on when you ovulate. And did your doctor say you couldn't ttc at all right now? I was so maniacal when ttc that I might have BMSed through the yeast infection... but you should really follow your doctor's orders on that one! I'm sorry you and dh are fighting. Ttc really is hard on couples. It's so hard to stay connected when you are battling this IF thing, but I can't stress enough how important it it. I hope you work things through. Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++ Maura |
