Question bbt vs. other times of day

Yesterday in the afternoon I wasn't feeling good, so I took my temp and it was 97.6. (bbt's have been around 98.1 for the past few days and 98.2 this morning) I took it in the middle of the day after running around doing errands. Shouldn't it be higher than the bbt?
Just curious...
Thanks,
Robin

PS - my normal daytime temp has always been low. before starting TTC and taking the hormones for IVF, it was around 96.8, and for the past year and a half it's been more like 97.7.

hi robin...

technically there is no correlation between afternoon temps and BBT waking temps. that said, i would check my afternoon temps periodically and they would usually be somewhat consitant with my morning temps. ie: if my morning temps were running in the low 97's, my afternoon temps would usually be in the high 97's.

has your doc ever run a thyroid panel on you? sometimes low temps can be a sign of a thryoid that's out of whack. or it could just be normal for you. i wouldn't really give it too much thought.

i think we get so caught up with our temps, and paying attention to fine detail and every 1/10th of a degree, we tend to forget that in actuality, the difference between 97.6 and 98.6 is only one degree.

Thanks, Dina!
I think you're right, we do get so caught up in it!
Yes, I've had a thyroid panel done at least twice and all has come back OK. That being said, with my immune testing, I came back positive for Anti-Thyroid Antibodies. But b/c my thyroid panel has been fine, RE wasn't too concerned and thought it shouldn't affect much.
Thanks, again!

ok, that's good robin. that's what i like t hear....a doctor that's on the ball. unfortunately, i've encountered doc's that aren't so on the ball....makes me wonder

so given the fact that you've had the testing done, i definitely wouldn't worry about it.
