Neg FRED HPT at 7dp3dt - is there still hope? Tell it to me straight...

I don't dare post this on the IVF board, they'd probably give me 50 lashings with a wet noodle!

Maura, I understand you are the HPT expert!

I did it this morning. I took a FRED test, and it was negative. My transfer was last Friday 3/18, and my retrieval was 3/15. So I am 7dp3dt.

Used FMU, but it was 5 1/2 hours old as I got up in the middle of the night once.

If this IVF worked, what is the % chance that the FRED should have turned + this morning.

PLEASE be honest. I hate false hope. Thank you!!!!

hi SDM...i think it's still early!!! i've heard of some positives at maybe 9-10 dpt (and that was a 5dt) so i definintely think you're still in the game. if you could hold out another 4-5 days i would test again!! will you make it that long?

Dina, I doubt I can hold out. Planning FRED #2 tomorrow a.m. Thanks so much for the response. You and Stacy-Ann as well as Maura are great resources! I am a good friend of NanceLee's, who I know frequents this board, and she thinks very highly of you guys!

Hi SDM,

I started hpting with 2 differnt brands at 7dp3dt and my FRER was negative and the other brand I used had a light light light double line. I thought FRER was the best but it didn't start showing positive until a couple days later, where the other test always had a line and was always darker. Maybe try a differnt brand??

Amy :-)

Hi there! I totally agree with the others... it's still early and that's the truth (see below)! I'm going to see if I can find a site that talks specifically about HPTs post transfer (as opposed to "dpo") and I'll post what I find....

For now, sit tight a few more days and then try again... I favor ClearBlue Easy and e.p.t..

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++
Maura
p.s. I know we seem like an optimistic bunch here, but readers here should know that, despite our hopefulness, we never sugarcoat anything.... if we see something that doesn't look promising, we'll say it straight out! But with an HPT taken early, there really IS still hope even when it's negative... implantation can take place up to 12 dpo and 10% of pg women will get a false negative when testing at the time AF is due.

p.p.s. NanceLee is wonderful.

I used FRER and Accuclear (CVS Store). I used Accuclear from my 1st cycle also, that also picked up faint lines at 7dp3dt. But don't forget, everyone is different, it can take a couple more days for you!!!

I used a FRED at 9dp3dt for my + cycle and got a light (but definitely there) second line. My beta at 8dp3dt was only 25! My doubling rate was really fast so at 7dp3dt I probably would've tested neg too!

Hang in there! At least when you get your + HPT ( ) in a few days you'll not have to wonder if you still have any HCG shot floating around in your system!

Good luck and many ++++++++++++++++ thoughts!

You can't hide from me! I'm posting over here too! How many lashes with a wet noodle should you get???
(Don't worry, you're secret's safe with me)

I used a FRED on 11dp3dt with FMU during my only successful cycle after having spotting on 10dp3dt and it was definitely negative no matter how I twisted and turned it in the light. On 13dp3dt my beta was 174. So I think it is WAY too early, my sister!

Hang in there, my friend!
