BBT and the cold

Hi All - I have a question about BBT and cold/fever. I am on CD28 and will begin my next cycle, which includes clomid + IUI. I just got myself a BBThermometer...and just for kicks, I measured my temp. this morning in bed. It measured 98.4. I know I should not read into this since I do not have a history to compare temps with this cycle, but I was wondering if cold or fever may affect the temp. I do not have fever yet, but I think I am coming down with a cold (not there yet...just the usual symptoms before cold starts). Any input will be great.

Thanks.
Speed.

hi speed......

yes absolutely!! a cold can cause your temps to be slightly elevated. if you were actually temping throughout your cycle, then you'd just make a note under todays temp that you're coming down with a cold.

also, i don't know what the usual length of your cycle is, but 98.4 is a normal post O temp. i would always get my AF temp drop the day before AF was due. so if your cycle is longer than 28 days, 98.4 could also be totally normal for you.

HTH

Thanks Dina. My 'normal' cycle is anywhere between 32 and 40 days. But I am on clomid the past 2 cycles (50 mg...and just clomid and BMS, IUI starts next cycle), and when on clomid I always get AF around day 30 (I have been on clomid before when TTC#1).
Thanks again.

Speed.

ok, that seems like a good temp then!! keep temping! you'll see your pattern after just a couple of cyles. good luck! maybe AF won't show at all
