Hi there! You're welcome here! This bulletin board ("bb") is filled with people who have similar experiences to yours and we are here to help each other. In addition, I encourage you to lurk around all of FT's bbs ... you may find yourself being drawn to one or more as you get to know us.

There is a link to "acronyms" at the top of this page and you should find most if not all of the abbreviations we tend to use. If we're using something you can't find there, just ask and we'll tell you what we're saying!

Anyway, we're eager to get to know you, so post away!

All the best+++++++++++++
Maura

huge question

thank you for responding i was beginning to wonder. I do have a question. Has anyone else had an ectopic preg and lost a tube? I need to know if any one has some advice about it i left my doctor and insurance a month after i had emergency surgery. My husband got out of the military. it has been 5 months and now for the past 2 months i have not had a period i have taken two tests and i am not preg i can tell i am not anyway but still is this normal? I found a somewhat free clinic i have an eligability apt there on friday but i am not so sure that just a normal clinic is going to be much help in such a specific problem. At first i thought it was stress but my husband was in iraq i have definately been under more stress than this before. Any advice will do alot. -jennifer

Hi Jennifer: I'm so sorry about your ectopic pg. {{{HUGS}}} The good news is that it is possible to conceive a good pg after an ectopic even with only one tube. My friend had an ectopic pg after her 2d child was born... but then went on to have a healthy boy after that.

The clinic may not be able to help you much with fertility treatment, but it can at least give you a pg test to see whether you are pg. They will probably give you a urine test, but since you've already been taking urine tests, I'm not sure that that will help. I think you need a beta HcG or a blood test to see whether you are pg.

If you are not, then it could definitely be stress disrupting your cycle. Or it could be a hormonal problem or a problem with your thyroid. When you go to the clinic, ask them whether they can test your thyroid, FSH and estrogen.

If stress is the culprit, your cycles should eventually return to normal. If it's hormonal, then you might need medication to get yourself back on track.

Let us know how the appointment goes and let us know if you have any questions, either before then or after, ok?

All the best+++++++++
Maura
p.s. I'm glad your husband got home from Iraq safely!
