VERY important question

HI Everyone,

I had a BFN with a beta yesterday and am so disappointed. I am not getting my hopes up but have to ask this question. I had my IUI on 3/1 and 3/2. Yesterday was 13 and 14 dpiui and cd 29. I had a tiny amount of light brown spotting on 13 and 14 dpiui and then nothing. I have never had spotting in my whole life, I just get my period every 26-28 days. My temp dropped a little on day 13 and 14 and then is back up today. I had been taking oral prometrium and stopped last night. There is no sign of AF. My temp always drops when I get AF. Last time, I had my regular period while taking the prometrium, however it was a smaller dose. ( I took 200mg last time and 400 mg this time at night). I also don't feel like I am getting my period and I usually gain about 3 pounds prior and I haven't. I am thinking that maybe I had late implantation. I may keep taking my progesterone until I know for sure. I don't know what to think. I know there is small chance for this hope. Anybody have a similar experience?? I will post this on the 2ww board also.

hi chris....i'm sorry for your disapointment.

i had a similar experience when i was pg with my ds, minus the beta. i was taking progest 200mg 2x a day and thought that's why AF was "delayed." i also had my temp plummet on cd 27, which was typical for me the day before AF arrived. the following morning my temp went back up. i didn't actually break down and take a HPT untili was 5 days late for AF.

i'm sure late implantation could just as easily produce a neg beta as it would a HPT. if implanation didn't occur until cd 11-12, then hcg isn't beng produced yet, hence the neg HPT or beta.

i'm not a doctor, so i really can't tell you what to do....but if you feel there is any reason to believe you might be pg, then you need to rethink stopping the progest....just MHO.

if AF doesn't arrive within the next couple of days, you could either HPT or ask your doc for another beta. stranger things have been known to happen.

Dear Chris,

I am having the same brownish spotting that started on 15dpiui!! I haven't quit taking my Prometrium, either, because of "what if..." Could implantation occur this late, or is it the Prometrium? The spotting isn't completely unusual, because I have had this happen 2 other times before AF arrived, and the length of my cycle doesn't concern me (yet) because I have very irregular and long cycles due to the PCOS. I was just going to give it another week and keep checking hpt's every other day. If no AF, then I will call my doctor. Let me know if you learn of anything.
