Positive OPK test and Questions...

Hi everyone! I am currently on Clomid day 15. Today my OPK test was positive...WOOHOO! My question We are going to have BMS tonight but should we do it again in 48 hours to be sure? How long should we have BMS this cycle before we have "Covered our bases?"
TIA!

hi yaaaay on the +++ OPK.

as long as you have no MF issues you can BMS everyday for about 4 days or until you're absolutely certain you've already O. the OPK obviously gives you the "high-sign" indicating an impending O, but additionally if you temp, your temp will rise once O has occurred. if you're dealing with MF, then the recommendation is everyother day to give dh's sperm a chance to replenish.

good luck!!

Hi there: I agree with everything Dina has said... just wanted to add that if you do BMS every day starting on the day of your ++OPK (which I highly recommend and which worked for us), make sure you wait 24 hours in between BMS sessions because any sooner than that and you may not give dh enough time to build up his supply. [And as Dina said, with male factor issues, you may need to wait longer than 24 hours and BMS only every other day.]

Congratulations on your ++OPK and good luck with O! Let us know how this cycle turns out too!

++++++++++++++

Thanks for the responses. We have no MF that we know of. I was diagnosed with PCOS. I have never done the temping. I did Clomid on days 3-7 and started OPK testing on day 9. It has been negative everyday until today and it was a very dark line, darker than the test line. So we will have BMS tonight, and the next 3 nights to be sure. We always wait 24 hours because we *ahem* get together once we put our 3 yr old down to bed and that is at 10pm each night...LOL thanks again!
