advice anyone?
I got up today to discover that I am having some spotting. It is brown in color just like when AF starts, and I am all of the sudden broken out on my face too, ugh!
My temp this morning was 98.0, but I just KNOW this is af, I could see it coming a mile away from what my face was doing starting about 2 days ago. The thing is I am only 8dpo, do you think I have a LF defect? And BEFORE I call my doctor, any advice on things I should be asking?

Okay, I seriously feel like crying! I just called my husband to tell him I started by period, and he was like, "oh, that's too bad. So, what is the deal with the taxes?" I could have killed him! Is it just my husband who is so insensitive to how I feel about this? I swear I am married to a rock, no sensitivity whatsoever. I know he wants another baby, but he just seems to be in no hurry, like he is completely disconnected with my burning for another child....
AAhhhh! I'm so mad! |

oh jessica, i'm sorry. has AF actually arrived? because it's not over until she does! if you've actually started AF, then you should discuss it with your doc if it's typical for you to get AF so shortly after O. it canbe indicative of a LPD and it's one of the easiest things to correct.
as for your dh...i'm sure he does want another child, but the truth is, i don't think men feel that instinctual desire as deep as we do. for women, it's a drive and a need that almost defies description. i also find when my dh is at work and things are crazy, i'm really only getting a small percentage of his attention. and if your dh is anything like mine, we're already at a disadvantage in the attention dept...LOL i'm running out now, but i'll be back later. let us know what's going with your AF and we'll all help you figure things out!!!

Yep, I'm pretty sure that it is AF, although I haven't had any more blood since this morning, if it was "implantation" spotting, wouldn't the blood be red? This SO sucks.

Hi Jessica -
I think you're still in the game. Until AF actually arrives, you are ok. Not sure what your temps were before the 98.0, but my temps dropped twice (from 98.6 to 98.3) during the 2ww. I thought for sure it was over. I am pretty sure now that the drop at 10dpo was an implantation drop (even though some don't believe in that) because the next day my temp went back up and I had the brown spotting like AF too. Yesterday I had an HcG done and it was 165! So please stay positive. See what your temp does in the morning if AF doesn't arrive. As for DH...mine does the same type of things, same type of comments. I agree 100% with DinaK in this regard! Hang in there! Keep us posted. Sending ++++ thoughts your way! djkfer

Djkfer, so when you had your spotting, did you have any other signs of af? I'm just so convinced this is it because of how my face broke out about two days ago, which is usually a tell tale sign af is coming, plus I was such a grump yesterday! I guess I will just wait and see what happens, and keep checking my temps. Should I call my doctor, and what questions do I need to ask?
Thanks for the +++++ thoughts! |

Jessica-yes! I was convinced AF was showing up (just like you). I had cramps, bloating, spotting, face was oily...the whole 9 yards. I think a lot of women experience AF symptoms when 1st pg. The only thing I didn't have that I usually do is chocolate cravings. And, I have had the same experience with all 3 of my pregnancies. Have you had luteal phase defects in the past? My suggestion...wait another day or so, keep doing your temps. If AF shows up too early, then call your dr about a possible luteal phase defect or maybe some other issue that may be going on. Again, I am no expert, just telling you what I would do. If AF doesn't show, then call for a hcg check 14dpo!
Good luck. Lots of sticky ++++thoughts coming your way. djkfer

jessica...i can tell you from experience....AF symptoms and early pg symptoms are identical!!! when i was pg the first 2 times i was 100% sure AF was coming. i used to get cramps back then (pre-children) and i had the cramps, the bloat, some spotting (and it was brown) and everyother symptom i would get when AF was on the way. as a matter of fact...i remember when i was pg with dd i was working at the time, and i spent an entire day running back and forth to the bathroom because i was sure i would be bleeding any minute and didn't want to get caught without a tampon.
so seriously, don't read into the feelings one way or the other. it doesn't matter how you feel because chances are you're gonna feel like your getting AF even if she doesn't come. hopefully this is your month! hang in there.

Jessica: I TOTALLY agree with the others... pg symptoms and AF symptoms are the SAME! I am very hopeful for you
! And no, the blood wouldn't be red necessarily for implantation spotting... I had brown spotting with my two pgs and was told that it was probably implantation spotting...Best of luck to you and please keep us posted! ++++++++++++++ Maura |

Thanks, you girls are the best for making me feel better! This is just so different from my pregnancies with my ds and dd. I has VERY sore boobies, and that was the first sign I had. Just like last month with my chemical preg, I was late, sore boobies, the whole nine yards. I guess I am just trying to prepare myself for the worst.. defense mechanism I guess
.I have had a little more bleeding since this morning, and a terrific backache... The only differene is the first day of af, I usually get a day of gushing... Like I said before, I guess we will see. Time will ALWAYS tell! Jessica |
