erratic temps.
Well, I am officially more confused then before. Here is what my temps have done.
97.3, 97.5, 97.5, missed day, 97.7, 97.8, 97.3, 98.3, 97.1.... 97.1 being today, do you think maybe I am having an anovulatory cycle with all of the erratic temps? I am thinking that I did have an LH surge on Monday, when I got my +opk, but just didn't ovulate... Is it too early to say I'm sick of this? Jessica PS: I did put a new battery in my thermometer yesterday, although the gal at the store tested the old one and said it was good.

hi jessica...
i'm sorry about all the confusion. are you temping a approximately the same time each day? of course i think it's possble to get a ++ opk and then not O, but it looks like you might have O on wed, with your rise on thursday, and a falback today. it does happen, it happened to me a few times as well. it totally confused the software progam i was using too i think only the temps for the next few days will help put the pieces together.do you track CM or CP, or get O pain? anything else that will help pinpoint your O date? i know how frustrating it can be sometimes. hang in there. you should know in the next couple of days what's going on.

Jessica: I know it's frustrating, but it seems that there are three likely possibilities for what's going on and that you are fine timing-wise with each possibility!
Possibility # 1: You ovulated two days ago, and today is a fallback temp. If this is true, your temp should go back up tomorrow and stay there. Possibility#2: You haven't ovulated yet, but you might be ovulating today. If this is true, your temp should go up tomorrow and stay there. Possibility # 3: You haven't ovulated yet, you will not ovulate today, but you will ovulate sometime by or around cd 20. If this is true, your temp should NOT go up tomorrow. Note: If your temp rises tomorrow, you won't know whether you are experiencing P # 1 or # 2. But it doesn't matter as long as you get a chance to BMS today (dh DOES come home today, right?! No excuses that anyone is tired !).If it's P # 3 and your temp doesn't rise tomorrow, then you should resume OPKing if you haven't already (chalking that cd 10 OPK up to a false surge) and go from there, making sure you BMS whenever you see fertile-quality cm and/or get a ++OPK. Don't give up hope! This cycle will declare itself and you should soon know where you stand .All the best and keep us posted+++++++++ Maura |

I do track my cm, which was ew on mon and tues. Sticky from there on out. What is cp? I do not know about ovulatory pain, I seem to have little twinges of weird pain all of the time, I guess I had slight cramping on wed. Is there any way to know if it's ovulatory pain or something else?
My dh does come home tonight, yipee! (Don't worry Maura, I won't let him pull the 'I'm too tired' line, and I'll be sure to drink lots of coffee so I'm revving to go! ) I'll pick up some more OPKs at the store today, I need to run to get stuff for my sons B-day party at school today... We're (my dd and I) are going to make cupcakes! Thanks for all of the encouragment.. I'll post my temp in the morning! God Bless You!!!!!!!!! |

Jessica: The cramping on Wednesday could be consistent with a Wednesday O ... or not! And the cm could have dried up because of O or because of Clomid or just because! If you're going to O later (Poss. # 3), you may notice that your cm returns as you get closer to the day.
Enjoy your baking and happy birthday to your ds ! Also, welcome to home to dh !Keep us posted and GOOD LUCK +++++++Maura |

jessica......
CP is cervical position. i never used this method personally, but i know many women have used it successfully. i get very disitinct O pains. they're unmistakable. however i have had months where i would equate them to twinges. based on your notes about CM, i would say that would also be inidcative of O on wednesday. i swear sometimes it's ike being a private detective anyhoo...let us know what happens with the temps!

Oh yeah, I forgot to answer about cp too! To add to what Dina has said, when you are not fertile, your cervix should be low, closed and firm ... when you are close to O, your cervix actually rises up in your body and becomes soft, high, open and wet ("SHOW") ... some women become quite good at detecting changes in their cervices (is that the plural?!), while others never get the hang of it. If you want to try it, just make sure you use a clean finger with short nails!
Take care+++++++++ Maura |

97.3 today...
I guess it's possibility #3? I have checked cp, and it ( from what I can tell) was fertile on Mon, Tues. Have you ever seen anyone who has ovulated who's temps didn't stay up? I am due to start progesterone supp. on the 7th, cd 17. Do you think it will be okay to start them if I can tell FOR SURE whether or not o has occured? +Jessica |

One more thing, are o pains usually on one side or the other, can they feel like cramps? What is the norm? I am trying to pinpoint all of the little pains and cramps and twinges I feel. I tend to feel little things throughout the month, that is why I am having a hard time pinpointing o pains. Is that normal?
I know, so many questions! Jessica

Hi Jessica: It sounds to me like it might be Possibility # 3 since your temps are staying low. Dh is home now, right?
Tell him he cannot leave again until your temp goes up and stays there !Seriously, though, I hope you'll be able to BMS regularly over the next week. I think O will happen sometime between now and cd 20 or so. As for your progesterone, I would definitely NOT start taking them on cd 17 if your temp hasn't risen yet because progesterone can delay or prevent ovulation that hasn't happened yet. If your doctor insists or urges you to start, then ask for a prog. test before you start to see if you can confirm ovulation first. Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++ Maura |
