I should know the answer to this, but...

I want to confirm what I think I know. Ovulation comes after the surge, but does ovualtion also come during the surge?? After 3 years of doing these doggone things I should be a pro...ladies can you help me??? I am down to my last IUI before IVF and hoping my timing is better this month. IVF makes me very nervous and I want to get this right this month!!! Good luck to you all!!!

Hi Teadiez, a surge in your levels indicates that ovulation is about to occur.

Take care and ++++++++++++

Hi Tea: When you detect your surge with an OPK, as Stacy-ann says, it means ovulation is near. How near? Unfortunately, it's impossible to say! It's possible to ovulate the same day as your surge or as late as 48 hours post surge detection. And sometimes you get a "false" surge (after which you don't ovulate), which is followed by another "real" surge (after which you do). That's it's sometimes helpful to confirm ovulation through temping, ultrasound or bloodwork (bbting being the least invasive and cheapest method of confirmation!).

Good luck this month!
