temping

Just a quick question. I am just starting temping again and my basal thermometer is about 3 years old, do you think that I will be getting acurate results from it? I bought a new one just in case, but I do not like it nearly as well as the one I already have because it doesn't give the previous days temp, and usually fall asleep again after I temp, and I like being able to go back and check the thermometer for my temp. ( I'm so sleepy I forget )It seems to be working fine, but I just want to be sure.

Also, where would I find a new battery? My friendly local Walmart?

Hi there! If your old bbt therm seems to be working fine then I say your best bet would be to start w/ a fresh battery so you don't have to change it in the middle of what could be a very important cycle if you know what I mean. Better to start new if your starting to ttc again. You know how we can analyze everything and obsess over the smallest of details and wouldn't it be better to go ahead and knock the bbt issue out of the way?!? Or you could go with your new thermometer but, personally I would want one with the memory on it because that too would create problems if it were me having to remember what the last temp was if I forgot to record it.

As for the battery, Walmart (probably at the watch/jewelry counter) or at your drugstore where the battery section is. Good luck with your cycle and I hope everything goes really great!!

Hi Jessica, I would get a new battery for your old BBT since you are happy with it. Target also sells the batteries.

Take care.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!
