positive/negative hpt

Okay, so I am very confused. I am scheduled to start Clomid this next cycle, and I am due to start AF today. I had midcylce cramping like maybe I did ovulate this last cycle. I wasn't with it enough to really temp correctly, so I can not really go off that. I didn't think I O'd, because didn't have any fertile CM like in the past. Now I am wondering if maybe that could be a side effect of being dehydrated?

Anyway, I have sore breasts and getting worse by the day. I took a hpt yesterday and it was very light, but positive. Since then, I have taken two more which both said neg. I don't know what to think. What are the chances of a false positive? With my last two sweet babys, after one test was positive, they all were. I hate to get excited yet without knowing for sure.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks, Jessica

hi jessica....would you have any idea at all when O could've occurred if it did? the discrepency could be simply due to timing. some hpt's are designed to pick up lower quantities of hcg.

if you did in fact conceive and AF was due today, the lack of ++ hpt's could be due to late implantation.

i think i would wait 2 more days (the average doubling time for hcg) and then test again using FMU. if you still get neg's then i would probably call the doc and ask for a beta.

hoping you get your BFP!!!

Hi jessica you probably are pregnant and are just beginning to show pregnancy hormones in your urine. If you take another test in a day or two, it should turn to a very bright, pink, positive line.

Wishing you all the best.

++++++++++++
Keep us posted ok.

I had some pretty good cramping on cd 23 and 24. I am now on cd 35.( My last cycle was about 32 days, the one before was 45, they are are definitely irregular.) I do not know if this is when I O'd, because cm was totally dry and had been for about a week give or take. The hpt's I took were the same brand, the bfp being yesterday morning, and the bfn being this morning. The only thing I can think is maybe my urine was too dilute, I did make one potty trip about 1 am. Tested about 7:30. I have a girlfriend working in the lab at the hospital. I will probably go in tomarrow and have her run a urine test, She said they will show positive 5-7 days after conception. I am just worried about a chemical preg. I have never had one, (that i know of) so that is the only thing I am worried about.

THINKING POS+++++++

Hi Jessica: How agonizing! I hope you get a resolution soon... I know how hard it is to be in limbo. You know, just a word about the urine tests. Even the most sensitive ones can give false negatives if taken too early. Since implantation takes place between 6-12 dpo, a test taken before the implantation window closes (so to speak!) can be negative even if there's a pg growing. So, don't be discouraged if you see negative tests at this point, especially it's unknown when you ovulated.

I wish you the very best! Please come back and let us know how you make out!
+++++++++++++++

BFN and starting Provera

Well, hpt is still a BFN. Doctor has me on Provera to start my period so we can begin the Clomid... I am so puzzled over the pos test, I guess I must have had a chemical preg?

Does anyone know how long it takes for the Provera to get things going? Will it really take all 10 days? I am only on day 3, and still nothing, except a bloated tummy.

Now that I know I am not preg, I have never been so anxious to start AF! I have been feeling like I am going to start, but I think maybe that must just be the side effects of the progesterone.

Still waiting...
Jessica

I'm so sorry, Jessica. That stinks. {{{HUGS}}} Maybe it was an early loss.

I hope that the Provera gets things going. My understanding is that you take the Provera and that it's after you stop taking it that you get your period. Some women get AF right after stopping; it takes other women up to 10 days after stopping to get it. I hope you are in the first category because I know how hard it is to wait for one cycle to close out before you start a new one.

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++
Maura

hi jessica...i'm sorry for all the confusion and false hope this cycle. i agree with maura that it could've been an early loss. but this is (soon to be a whole new cycle) which brings all new hope! so good luck!

Question

So I guess will never really know for sure whether I lost a baby or not? Is there anyway to confirm an early loss like that? Or can I be pretty confident that is what happened...

Also, will taking the Provera harm me in any way if BY CHANCE I was still preg? I'm sure I'm not, sore boobies have gone away and everything, but I guess I would just like some peace from knowing it would be safe anyway.

Oh Jessica I am so sorry:hugs: Sorry I can't answer whether or not it was a Chemical pg. Don't have an answer about the Provera, sorry.

Praying that this new cycle will end in a +++++++++++++ way.
