Second Follie Scan Results

My follie was 37mm and I had some echos in it and some fluid behind my uterus which means I have ovulated or am ovulating. So, no trigger this cycle. Question: I had a + opk yesterday and a - one today. My temp rose .5 tenths this morning from yesterday, but I am having more O pains today. Could I be O'ing today or still O'ing. Anyone know how long O'ing actually takes?

I just went to ultrasound and have bad news. Dr. said I overstimulated (on 150mg clomid), my follies are too big. They were around 38mm, three of them. Dr. said I have to cancell IUI and no trigger either. He said b/c higher chance of multiples and more pain with ovulation if I trigger. He sounded like this cycle is a bust, then he said, "but be sure and bms, you can still get pg." I'm confused, b/c I see your follie is also pretty big. Did your Dr. talk about any of this. Is that why he cancelled the trigger for you too? I was so disappointed.

I don't know how long O takes, but you could have had more than one follies, one could O a little before the other. Just a guess. It sounds like good news though with the +OPK and increased temps.

I guess we are both having weird cycles this time. I was really hoping for better news. He also sguggested a lap at end of this cycle, after af. So, then I'm out 2 cycles right. Can you still TTC the same month as your lap?

Hi Aimee sorry to hear they cancelled your trigger. I had large follies too and was told the cycle was cancelled. I was so bummed and upset I refused to waste a cycle and BMS like a wild bunny. Once I got my + we went at it. I was doing injectables. To everyone's surprised I got pg. It happened with my DS (2.5 yrs of IF TTC) and almost a year with DD.

I would continue to use the OPK's because Clomid does delay O's. If you are having the EWCM BMS too.

Clomid (Serophene/clomiphene citrate) can cause a false positive in OPKs if taken too soon after finishing the prescription. According to most of the manufacturers you should wait at least 3 days before using an OPK. If you take Clomid days 3-7 you can begin testing on day 10. If you take it 5-9, you should wait until day 12.

Most women will ovulate 12-48 hours after the LH surge is detected, most common is 36 hours after the actual surge. One should get a bit more notice, 24-48 hours, by testing in the afternoon.

It's best to have intercourse the day of the LH surge and the two days after. Also consider "insurance" sex for one more day in case you ovulate late. Perfect timing would be to have had intercourse the day before the LH surge as well, but that can be hard to predict for those with an irregular cycle. If you don't know when you might ovulate, having sex every other day from cycle day 10 through a positive OPK.

If you are taking your basal body temperature, you should have sex through the first day of your temp rise to make sure you cover all days (though after the rise is usually too late).

I am sorry to hear that Kim... sounds like we are having similar cycles. My dr. told us to continue to bms. He was going to give me the trigger because he called the fertility specialist that they work with and the specialist told him it would be ok to give me the trigger even with my follie being that big. But he decided not to when dh told him that the u/s showed fluid behind my uterus which is a sign of ovulation. I asked him if it was bad that my follie was so big and he said no. I don't know anything about a lap.... sorry. I guess we just have to keep bms'g and wait it out. Keep me posted!
