Hi Kelly,
I stopped running(I was only running 3 miles a day 5 times a week) in late December but continued doing my weights and walking. In late January I got a period---I got one in July when I had to stop running from an injury. THese are the only 2 periods I've gotten on my own in 5 years. I also started eating a little more and upped my fat intake (I don't eat desserts or a lot of carbs because I don' like the way they make me feel. I also take chaste tree but I think tha not running had more to do with it. I'm hoping I get a period this month too. It would be nice to be able to temp and track it. I'm not too serious about having a baby just yet but I really want to get my body working right. Tricia

Hi Tricia:
Thanks so much for your helpful reply; it amazes me how different each woman's body is. I have friends who can train for a marathon and not have their periods affected at all. Although you and I do not seem to be the same way. Perhaps they have more body fat -- who knows? My RE recommended that I limit runnig to 12 miles per week while TTC. But once I do my IUI next week (we are doing a natural cycle with donor sperm due to male factor) I will limit myself to walking. I do love to run so it can be tough. Anyway thanks for the response and keep me posted on your baby-making endeavors! Kelly |
