not the best update (pg ment)

Well, I had my second beta today and my number didn't double. It was 61 on Monday and only 94 today. So, things aren't looking very promising. I am going back on Friday for another beta and to see the RE. They are thinking it's possibly etopic. I am trying to remain hopeful but from all I've read chances are pretty slim.

I did have some brown spotting last Thursday and Friday (very light and only when I wiped - sorry for TMI) so I was thinking that was possibly when I implanted. So, maybe it's still early.

Anyway, I was tentative about announcing my pg in the first place with the initial low beta but I just knew if things didn't go well I would need support from you all. Please, if you can spare some prayers/positive thoughts I would be very grateful.

TIA,
Lisa

lisa...i know it's hard to stay postitive, it's our defense mechanism at work, but try. there was a few posts around recently regarding beta #'s. i'm trying to remember who it was...hmmm, maybe homeschoolmom? i'll have to search. but her numbers also weren't doubling (which is not an exact science) and she was also worried. all turned out fine tho. try and keep good thoughts!

let me see if ican find you that thread...

Lisa: Please don't give up yet! Your beta is going up and even if it's not perfectly within the range, it's so close! Remember, the human body is not a machine and statistics are only statistics. I'm thinking of one woman I know -- a doctor -- who had some discouraging betas with her first. She and her colleague concluded that there was no way a healthy pg could be growing given the betas (which were going up, but not "fast" enough to fall within "normal" ranges). Well, she couldn't have been more wrong! For whatever reason, her betas were not indicative. She went on to have a healthy boy, who is now 4.

I am so hopeful for you! Let's see what this next beta looks like! Fingers and everything else crossed for you. Lots of +++++++++s coming your way!

Keep us posted, my friend!
+++++++++++++good luck
Maura
