HPT's/Beta's...and when. Very confused!

I've noticed that a lot of people doing FET's (specifically 5dt) seem to have their betas on 9dpt. Meanwhile my clinic makes people wait 14 dpt! Are they just making me wait 5 extra days basically for nothing? Is it all over if a beta won't pick up the result by 9dpt? Does that mean if I HPT on 9 or 10 dpt and it's a BFN that it's very likely correct?

My understanding has always been that on a 5dt, the embryos will implant by the following day if they are going to and then would take a few days to make enough HCG to be detected. The beta testing 9dpt actually makes sense to me. Does anyone else's clinic make them wait as long as mine does and do you have any idea why?

Thanks,
Staci

hi staci...i did not personally do a FET, but i'm going to venture to say that your clinic probably likes the little cushion for the sake of accuracy. i definitely don't think that a neg HPT at 9dpt means it's over. for whatever reason, some women aren't producing enough hcg to be picked up early on. it happens with natural conceptions as well.

a friend of mine who's TTC was told by her doc's office that they won't do a beta until CD 40 of a normal cycle. she thought that was ludicrous and torturous. having been thru IF myself, i have to agree. the 2ww are the longest 2 weeks in the world.

i'm hoping someone who has been thru FET will be able to give you some personal experience. have you posted this on the FET bb as well? i'll bet there's a lot of girls there that can give you feedback.

either way, nobody can tell you not to HPT at 9dpt, right?

good luck!!! i hope you get your BFP.
