Couple Questions...

Is estrace (estradiol) the same thing as estrogen? And tomorrow is the big day... HSG... any tips?? It is at 2:20 should I eat lunch at the normal time 12 and just eat light or should I eat earlier?
Aimee

I ate an hour before with no problem. I had alot of cramping from the cathater during so you might want to take some 2- 500 mg motrin about an hour before to help the pain/cramping. Some people have no pain and no problems. My procedure took 8 minutes start to finish. Good luck! Keep us posted.

hi aimee.....

yes, estrace is a synthetic form of estrogen.

as for the HSG i would take albliene's suggestion and take motrin before you go. nit all people expereince cramping, but i would take it anyway.

best of luck, and let us know how it goes!

yep. they can see what's going on as the dye is moving around. so hopefully they will give you some info while you're there. sometimes the techs won't talk tho....if not, you can call your doc and have her call for a verbal.

(pg ment)

Good luck tomorrow! I had one back in September. You get to see as it's happening on a screen. I ended up having a blocked tube but they never unblocked it. Then I got pg in November (via IUI). But sometimes they say since they are "cleaning out" many girls get pg soon after HSG!!

Good luck!!

Absolutely take Motrin. It not only helps with the pain it stops your tubes from quivering. It's really the only way they can get a good readout.
