new to BBT, can someone help me understand?
I am on my first cycle of clomid, induced by provera. I have been taking my temps everymorning, around the same time. The lowest has been 96.6 and the highest 96.9. I have low temperatures to begin with. I am on cd 13 right now. My temps the last week have been....
CD 4-96.6 CD 5-96.8 CD 6-96.9 CD 7-96.7 CDs 8-11 96.9 BMS CD 8+9 CD 12-96.8 CD 13-96.6 BMS I've heard that the drop in temp leading towards ovulation can be gradual, or quick. If this is true, mine obviously seems gradual. I've been attempting to check my CM and for the past few days its been EWty. And durring BMS today there was a lot of it....DH even commented on how much there was. Since this is my first cycle i'm kinda confused as to whether the "gradual temp drop" thing is true. Is there anything you can tell me, looking at my cycle so far, about whether it looks at least halfway normal? Any info will help... THANKS LOTSA

hi lotsa.....so far it lokos fine. your temps do look like they run a little low, but they're consistant.
i think the pattern varries by individual. my temp would take a very noticeable plummet the day of O. i would try and keep BMS'ing for the next few days. EWCM is usually a good indicator that you're right there. do you OPK? that's usually a great little tool as well. especially when you're not totally familiar with your pattern yet. the only thing i would like to mention is that i know that most women that take clomid tend to O a little later than usual. so don't stop BMS'ing until you're sure O has already occurred. good luck!!

Hi lotsofbaby..... For most women, 96 to 98 degrees is considered normal prior to ovulation and 97 to 99 degrees after ovulation. By charting the differences - in one-tenth degree increments - you can determine when ovulation has taken place.
Typically a rise of at least 0.4 to 0.6 degrees will take place at ovulation, though for different women the temperature increases may be sudden or gradual. Over time, charting your BBT will help you predict ovulation. BBT charting only tells you when ovulation has already occurred - and is therefore important for predicting general patterns. To predict ovulation, LH testing (ovulation predictor kits) is more effective - and examining cervical mucus is also a very valuable method. That said it is also more common to have a long luteal phase while on Clomid. When I was in TTC I was put on 50mg of Clomid. I am normally a 28cd gal and always O on CD14 but I was so desparate I begged my doc to try me on the Clomid. I went to Oing on CD20 and a cd length of 32days. That was the last time I took that darn drug. Looks like you timed the BMSing correctly, especially with all that EWCM!!! Good luck & ++++++++++++
