Grocery game questions

I see some of you use the grocery game. I'm thinking of signing up but I guess I'm not wholly convinced that it really works. Do you really save that much money? We really need to save some money now that the babies are here and I know this is an area where I can cut back. We spend way too much now. Is it very hard or time consuming? We are military and I know I can get some good deals at the commisary but I HATE shopping there. Just looking for some feedback!

Thanks,
Angelia

Awww. Sorry. I saw this earlier, but was too busy at work to respond. I still am, but let me just say that it's only $1.00 to join for a month. Give it a try. It's not hard at all as long as you have a printer that works...mine is having issues. Just try it. Sign up for all the stores available in your area. If you want to remain a member, just cancel the stores you don't want before they bill you. You'll have to change your way of thinking a little bit. Don't plan meals and then go shopping. See what's on sale first and plan you menus around the sale item. Do not browse. Stick to your list. Stock up on things when they are at their lowest prices. For the best discounts you need to use the coupon inserts in the Sunday paper, but they tell you which coupons from which inserts to use. Give it a try. The most you'll lose is a dollar. Phones are ringing, gotto go!

I was just coming here to ask this same question. I am trying to decide if it is worth it. Guess I better have dh fix our printer, then I think I will give it a try.

One more question, can you sign up for 2 different zip codes? I sometimes go shopping in other towns.

I've been doing it for 2 weeks.
It helps me decide what to stock up on and use with a coupon.

Still not sure I'll be joining past the one month.
But it's more than worth the $1 for a month, I've already gotten a few free items and begun stocking up on things I need.

You might want to check and see if all the stores you want might be listed on one zip code.

I think it is well worth it if you have a grocery store in the GG within a reasonable distance. I can't recommend it for CVS.

I just canceled my trial membership. For me it wasn't worth it. I already shop by specials, so it really didn't save me anything. Most coupons in my area are not for products I would buy (mostly processed foods). The random savings on soap or such just doesn't justify the cost of the program for me. I shop often enough that I "know" whether a sale price is a good price or not and I stock up when I find them. If you don't already do that, it might be worth it to get a jumpstart on navigating in store sales. But if you are already in that habit, I think the savings will be marginal.
