GG'ers--are you out there?

How is everyone doing? I think Greekmom is away so I thought I'd jump in.

I've been doing great. I am LOVING the CVS list. That store is amazing! I'm going tonight to get my razors and few other things. I need to get my ECBs to print and then I'll go back again and get the FREE lipstick (that I don't need--but it's free!) and the FREE toothpaste (again--I don't need it --my stockpile is awesome in that dept--but it's FREE and I love the ECB game).

I haven't really been using my list store. I dislike Food Lion and my other stores double--but I've been using it as a guide. I'm actually considering writing the letter to see if I can be a listmaker for one of my local more favorite stores!

So--spill it!

I posted up top even though it's for the wrong week. CVS just doesn't inspire me for some reason and I've been shopping at Walgreens. I was going to delete CVS when my 1st month was up, but I forgot, so I might give them another try. I can only shop Sun-Wed for groceries, which is annoying, so I have to run out tonight and pick up a few more things. I don't think my dh is too into this and it would be a lot more fun if he were. Still, I think he's impressed when I save 40-50% on the bill. I wish our other grocery store were part of it too.

I went last night after the kids were in bed
I dropped cvs and walgreens as I really don't shop there and was making extra stops so now I'm just going to shop Giant Eagle.

So from my list and the things I just needed to get I...

Spent 110.04
Saved 102.8 (they even list percentage and mine was 48%)

I wound up getting some rainchecks as a couple of the items were sold out.

I too love CVS!! I put this on the GG site earlier...

shelf 146.59
paid 57.85
savings 60.5%

got:
2 razors
2 refills
5 bags candy
2 boxes candy
2 boxes cookies
1 pkg diapers
1 deodorant
1 lipstick
3 allergy med
2 pain relievers
1 shampoo
1 hairspray
2 bags snack mix
2 dish soap

Should have $26+ in ECBS coming back to me!

My other store is HEB and their prices are pretty much rock bottom anyway... they do have good sales and in-store coupons.... last week I spent $80 and saved $19+ in coupons, not sure what "shelf" would have been, but this is a lot less than I usually spend and I got SO much!!!

Robin,
Since I know your not to far from me it must be Tops or Heinens.
Tops is ok and if it were added I would add it to my list too to see if I like it. Never been in Heinens .

Lisa,
You're right! I wish they would add Tops. I don't think their store is as clean, the one by me even smells bad as you enter and I've often found items past their expiration date, but they do carry different brands and I like to have a choice. Dh likes to check my list and say, "it's cheaper at Marcs." I'm not a big fan of Marcs, but they do have some good prices.

I do like Heinen's too. They tend to be pricey, but maybe they have good sales that I've overlooked. I think they're family-owned and not part of any big chain. Until recently they had more specialty and organic choices, but now the other stores have more than they used to.

Do you ever shop at Sav-A-Lot or Aldi's? I've been to Sav-A-Lot a few times. The shopping carts at Aldi's confuse me because you have to pay to get one and the ones at Sav-A-Lot have wheel locks that frustrate me. I like my shopping experience to be as pleasant and uncomplicated as possible!

As far as your receipt at Giant Eagle, the percentage doesn't include the savings in the deli section or meat unless it's buy one get one free, so your saving might be even higher.

Question.....for the Walgreens rebates....does anyone know how strict they are on the postmark date? I should have had it postmarked by 8/5/06 but I forgot. Now I'm even wondering if it is worth sending in???

I've only been in Sav-a-lot and Aldi's once a piece and they were both in IN.

GE and T are closer to me than either SAL or A. When I go to shop I want to know that what I'm shopping for is going to be there. If I understand it right both SAL and A's may not have what your looking for when you go as they buy in bulk and don't always have the same things in stock all the time.

I have been so-so on CVS. The last two weeks have been more accurate for my store. The first couple of lists I printed had a lot of stuff that was not on sale in my CVS, so I have learned to go over my list with the circular to make sure they are on sale. I also have found that the lists mention coupons that aren't printed in my circulars. It isn't as easy as I had hoped, but it has brought some good deals to my attention that I may have overlooked otherwise. The other problem is that the list doesn't come out until Tues., by then the good stuff is gone already and I have to get rainchecks.

I have been shopping Aldi's quite a bit. They have a lot of products I like. I grab a bunch of what I like when I go there.

We have two Sunday papers and I've noticed that "same" insert is different in each paper.

I have that problem too. My grocery store starts its sales on Thursdays but I'm not supposed to shop unil Sunday and by then some things are gone.
