    Accessing Super For Fertility Treatments

    Hi All,

Its been ages since I posted on the boards in general and although I posted this info on the General boards I thought it may have more relaevance to the AUS section.

I just wanted to let you all know that you may be able to access your super to help pay for fertility treatments as we did when undergoing our IVF a few years back and it was only via fluke that I found out.

If anyone would like more info on how we did it please feel free to email me at shanevic@bigpond.net.au or you can send me a PM but I am no longer a paying member so I can only get 3 PM's at a time

Look forward to helping anyone out where I can and wish everyone an amazing 2009.

    Vicky

    Hi Vicki

Kylie here. I was wondering how you went about accessing Super for Fertility treatments. We recently arrived back from India, after the birth of our beautiful boy, via surrogacy, which was an amazing experience. We have had all sorts of fertility probs since we met, in 2000, and surrogacy was our last hoorah, after everything else failed. Even surrogacy took 4 attempts in the end, but, we persisted, and recently our experience has helped others through the process. I am wondering how you would go about requesting preserved super be used for fertility treatments? That is quite bizarre.

    Thanks for your thoughts

    Kylie

    Hi Kylie,

Sorry for the delay in replying I don't visit all that much anymore. But if you would like more info go to www.apra.gov.au and give them a ring. They were extremely helpful to us and pointed us in the right direction.
