    It's A ........

    IT'S A GIRL

    It all began like this.......
Sunday night John and I climbed into bed after making a list of the little odd jobs we wanted to get done before we left to go to the hospital in the morning. John looked at me before turning out the light and said " Just once I would like to do the Hollywood style birth, you know the one Honey wake up I think I am in labour, mad dash in the car to the hospital and rush to the labour ward" I just smiled and laughed and said maybe with the next one!

I woke at 3:45am feeling sore and convinced myself that I had been lying in the one spot for too long so I should just get up have a wee, a walk, get a drink and settle back into bed. I did all of that and 15 minutes later I was still not feeling great, by 4:15am I decided that I was infact in labour so it was a good time to wake John. After calling him 3 times he finally wakes up in Doctor mode......Where is the pain? How long have you had it? On the scale of 1 to 10 what is the pain like? Now don't get me wrong I love John dearly but I nearly bit his head of muttering the words "since bloody when have you been a doctor, just get the phone number off the fridge." He climbs out of bed and then returns with the list of numbers for PLAYGROUP!! Back to the kitchen he returns and I call the hospital explaining the situation and the nurse tells me to get in there asap.
My mother in law shows up in her dressing gown while I have just finished taking a shower, John is still running around ( just like the Hollywood husband) and we are off. On arrival to the hospital the nurse does her checks and then informs me yes I am infact in labour and due to me having Alex so quick she wants to check how far along I am. She does her thing and triggers off something which quickens the labour. She rushes out of the room to organise the theatre staff and get my OB who is not offically on call till 7am ( it's now going on for 6am). After a while which seemed like an eternity my OB shows up and announces he will see me in the theatre in 5 minutes. By this time all my nervousness about the epidural is wearing off and I just want the pain to go away. Our friend who we found out was booked to help at my surgery in the afternoon rocks up to work to find John waiting in the hall way much to her suprise she suits up so she can come in.
The epidural was done and John gets brought in with the camera in toe, they announce that they are going to begin and our friend is there to hold the mirror so we can see and take the pictures. All of a sudden John has forgotten how to work the flash on the camera so here am I giving instruction whilst being sliced open! It was all over very fast and they pull the baby out and I look at John and said "What is it?" he replied "I don't know I didn't see" Our friend looks at us both and said aren't you excited? We said what is it? She get the Paedatriction to turn the baby around and it is only then we see that we have a little girl. It was sooooo exciting as we were both expecting to see a little boy.
So after a few complications in hospital ( fluid on my diaphram causing shoulder tip pain ) we are at home trying to get Alex used to the idea that he now has a baby sister.

I just want to say a big thanks to you all girls for all of your advise and support over the last 9 months, it's so nice to have people to chat to that know how you are feeling.
    Thanks Heaps
    Love Amanda

Whoops!!! Can't believe I forgot that must still have pregnant brain or the epidural numbed the brain.

Our little girls name is...... ERICA CATE

We always loved the name but she is also named after her Poppy which was a big surprise to him, especially because no one told him until he arrived at the hospital and the nurse introduced him to her without knowing that she was named after him. It was so lovely the nurse guided him over to the cradle and said so what do you think of your new granddaughter Erica.

    Hi girls,

I didn't mean to disappear it was my 40th on the 1st of April (yes I know April Fool)! DH arranged a surprise night away, yes my first whole night away from my boy! We had a lovely time.. had dinner with friends and a late night. Didn't get up until 9am!

It was bad timing though, Daniel has been waking up through night (first time since 5 months old) and think it is separation anxiety and wanting to crawl. Last two nights he has woken at 4am and I cannot get him back to sleep, not even rocking will do it! He was never this bad during teething!

Anyway, will catch up on personals, just wanted to wish you a Happy Easter!
