I got to, play tooth fairy!!!

Ok so maybe to someone with kids this is no big deal. I am very close to my neice and nephew well I asked my nephew to come over for a slumber party last night, and he lost a tooth yesterday so my sis sent it with him, he was sure the tooth fairy could find him at my house. I told my sis how excited I was and she said it wasnt really a big deal. I just had to share, I was so excited and to me it was a very BIG deal. I guess that is what IF does to us. The small things are so much more important.

I'm hearing you on the big deal, a few years ago my sis let her 2 boys stay at my house at Easter and I got to be easter Bunny ! Last Christmas DH and I got to help my other sis and her DH set up my nephews bikes and lay out all the Christmas presents, it was fun but very bitter sweet, I have declined the offer to help again this year.

awwwww I bet playing easter bunny was great. I can understand turning down Christmas this year though. That is bigger than the tooth fairy and I can see how it would hurt. It is driving me crazy that people look at me like Im crazy for being so excited if they only knew how lucky they are and the gift they truely have every single day.

I know it's incredible how some people whinge and moan about having to set up toys and wait till the children are asleep etc. if only they knew how hard it is just to go to bed

BIG HUGS to you! Important role you are playing though. Years from now, the memory of being at his auntie's house when the tooth fairy visited may very well be "one of those" memories!

hey tnahope :)

your post hits very close to home. my nephews (3) of them and my niece are everything to me. i am a VERY big part of their lives. i go to all their events and haven't missed a holiday with them. my favorite - i go to their house every year haloween and help them get dressed in there customes and hand out candy.

my niece is my little clone - she looks and acts just like me they could be my kids.

We sound so much alike when it comes to our neices and nephews. We have slumber parties all of the time and I am always with them on the holidays too. I have even got to go to a school function that they could only pick mom or dad and he picked me I love the relationship I have with them and I cherish every thing I get to do with them.

You ladies are amazing. I think that is so awesome that you are able to be there for them. I too am a huge part in my niece and nephews lives. I have a daughter but she is 12 and doesn't belive in santa, tooth fairy or the easter bunny.
