I had an IUI that did not take. I had several cysts left over. I started my new cycle on the 1st of sept and I am still spotting as of the 17th. How long is too long and what can happen if it doesn't stop?

IUI/spotting

I am rather new to the IUI myself. I am not sure how long you should be spotting, but 17 days seems excessive. Have you contacted your doc to ask if this is normal? My first IUI was not a success and now clomid has caused cysts and I have had to sit the last 2 months out. Waiting to see if I conceive naturally this month (unlikely) or if the u/s at my on CD3 of next cycle shows cysts still. Let me know what you find out. I am interested to know... Called the dr on Saturday and was told to take Advil to stop the spotting. I went to see him yesterday and found out that I am pg. He said to be cautiously optomistic. I am taking suppository progesterone twice a day. I am still spotting. I will find out more tomorrow. I just don't feel this one will last.

I'm so sorry to hear that!!! However, I am glad you are staying positive and that you found reassurance through it all though - that you can get pg. I haven't had that reassurance yet, but I'm trying to keep my hopes up.

Using the progesterone supp only made me spot even more. Next time if this happens we will start the progesterone IM as soon as possible. At least I know I can get pg.
