Am I the only one without feeling?

Hi ladies.

I'm 21 weeks and every time I go to the dr they ask if I can feel her move. The answer is no.

It seems like everyone here has felt the baby move except MOI! I'm not freaked out, cuz I see dr's so much I see her heartbeat and moving and stuff, just kinda sad cuz I can't feel her yet.

I talked to my mom and told her maybe I just don't know what I'm supposed to feel and she said

"You'll know..it's a fluttery feeling"

Which is what you all have said. Heavy sigh...maybe I'll just skip the fluttery feeling and go right to the big kicks in a couple weeks?!?!

And no...I didn't start out paper thin in the waist, but not obese either. I've heard if you started out heavier it will be longer before you feel the baby.

Anyone else out there NOT feeling the baby yet?

Amy

Amy,

Have you tried drinking a glass of orange juice (near bedtime) and then laying down in bed and just relaxing? In the beginning, you won't really notice the baby moving when you are active, you'll notice it the most when you are resting and lying still.

You have to remember too, the baby is still very small so the movements won't be anything earth shattering. They will be more like little pokes or rumbles. I never felt any "flutters" with any of my 3 pregnancies.

Good luck! I hope you start feeling something soon!

Good for you for not getting worried! You've seen her moving around and you know she is. Maybe she's positioned in a way that you can't feel it or maybe you are too active to notice...I felt it weeks ago but very, very sporadically. It's just been in the past few days that I have felt more movement. Try the OJ thing and rest assured you'll feel her soon!!

my girlfriend is in the same boat....she is 5 days behind me (due 8-17) and she hasn't felt her little one yet either. but, she listens to the HB like 2-3 times a day (she's a little paranoid) and has had u/s and all is well!
i hope you get kicked soon!

I too am unsure if I have felt the baby. At times, usually when I am sitting or lying still on the couch I think I feel something, but then I am not sure of myself and think it might be just gas. Don't freak out.....it's not uncommone for it to be a little later than 21 weeks...

its only in the last couple of days i have felt what are unmistakeable movements, and i am preg with no.4, usually you are supposed to feel subsiquent pregnancies earlier, i think this is the latest i have felt anything, and i must have not noticed the flutters, because its just to odd tiny kick i feel now, i also only tend to feel it either after i have eaten if i sit still still long enough, or when i go to bed and lay realy still on my back, and i have to really concentrate too, so maybe you are getting kicked and are just not noticeing, it could be very easy to not feel it at this stage.

and like erin said well done for not freaking, you know everything is well in there, maybe the placenta is at the front that would delay things for you a little also. im sure in no time you will feel something.

No you're not the only one!
I'm almost 22 weeks and was the same way. Then on Sunday night I was relaxed watching TV with DH and I thought I felt a bump. For me, it wasn't a "flutter", but more like if you felt a heartbeart.

I lightly pushed on my belly and it did it again. Then I told DH and we kept doing it for about 5 more kicks. I was so happy he felt it on the first shot! It was easy for him to recognize when I explained it like a faint heartbeat.

We'll try to feel it every night after dinner from now on!

It's good because you're so far along that when you feel it - you'll know it!

Let us know...
