Has anyone gained as much weight as me?

So I went for my routine monthly OB appointment today and all was well with the baby, but I have gained... ... are you sitting down?...13 pounds! My dr. was fine with it, not worried about it in the slightest, but I am sad, scared, worried, mad at myself. 7 pounds of this gain were in the last two weeks (they weighed me when I went in for my little ligments pain/pressure scare). Now, it was my birthday and my nephews birthday and we have had parties and cake around, and I know that I have had a huge appetite but, geez louise, if I keep going at this rate...too scary. And what makes it even worse is that I still don't really look pregnant-how is that!. I'm trying to do better now (NO CAKE! ) but sometimes I have absolutely no will power. Most the time I do eat healthy food, just a ton of it.

I'm sorry to vent, especially about this when I know that some of you are having trouble eating. I'm just wondering if any of you veteran mom's ever experienced anything like this?
    Thanks.

Plus like Babyluv said how totally bootylicious did Kate Hudson and Debra Messing look with their pregnancies!

    Jen,
I gained ALOT of weight with my first pg, puking and all. It amazed me that I could be so sick and still gain weight, but I did. I was up 50+ pounds at the end of the pg. My second child, I was gestational diabetic, so I had to stay away from refined sugars and I gained ALOT less, only about 33 pounds. Both times I lost it all. I am a small person, only 5 feet 1 inch tall, and usually weigh about 115 pounds, so it was hard to deal with the huge gain. This time, I seem to be doing a little better, I only gained 4 pounds the first trimester, although the scale at home this morning I think I'm up about 6 pounds now. I am doing my best to exercise regularly 3-4 days a week, which I think is helping some because I'm not doing well with my diet. I will have to scale back if I turn up GD again, which I will be tested a little early at 24 weeks. Although it's hard and even scary to see the scale go up, it's good that the baby is growing well!! I always tell people, you have 9 (or 10 really) months to be pg and the rest of your life to lose the weight. So, relax, and enjoy! You may also find towards the end of the pg you actually start losing a little weight here and there, that sometimes happens (although not to me, unfortunatly!!)
    Hang in there!!

JEN! We're a day apart and pretty much having the same pregnancy! If I just go by my scale - we're about the same! I don't trust their scales because each time I'm in a different room and some days it's been as far as 5 pounds off my scale!

Don't worry about a thing. Your picture looks beautiful! HEY! It's March 1st...Sarah...when are you posting??? Look at it this way. If you gain a pound a week from this point on, then you'll only be 35 pounds. You looked tiny to begin with so 40-45 is totally normal.

I was very concerned last month, but my doctor said not to worry or think about it at all. I must admit, I feel pretty big when I visit the June or July boards and they haven't gained as much weight!!!

    SO HAVE THAT CAKE!

Jen you sound like you are doing great! You are very thin to begin with so your body is just storing some fat for the baby. It'll fall off after you deliver! Relax and enjoy!

13's not so bad for the first 1/3 of pregnancy!! I had a girlfriend that gained 75!! That's not healthy (at least it wasn't in her case) but she lost it all and currently taking off the 40 from her second pregnancy!

You're doing great!! Especially if it isn't showing!!

I have gained 8 lbs so far @ 16w and I eat like a pig. I never watched how much I ate (tried healthy of course but it was not possible all the time, come on...) with my dd. I gained 30-32 lbs and lost it all. I am hoping to gain no more than 30 as I too have to be in a wedding overseas in 6 weeks past my due date. I will make sure I will carry my baby everywhere so people know that I just had a baby and not that I eat too much.

Aw sweetie! Try not to worry, you're doing just fine! With DD I was up 10 in the first tri and gained a total of 45 lbs, but never really looked "that big". It all came off within 6 months too.
This time I only gained 3 in the first tri but I'm packing it on now. I'm up a total of 10 at 18 weeks. Exercise is not an option as I am bedresting 1/2 days now.
Go ahead and enjoy yourself--have that cake!

You are all so great. Yesterday when I posted, I didn't really think anything could make me feel better, but you did it! I feel 1000 times better. Each and every one of you had great advice. Thank you!

I'm already fantasizing about the next cake-worthy occasion. Maybe I'll have to bake a cake in honor of Tammies birthday! Doesn't Sarah have one coming too! Yummmmmmm
