Random things, nuchal results, and other scary stuff....
1. Ok, probably am about the last to weigh in on these issues, but- my nuchal came back ok. Both neck fold size (well under 2mm) and blood test results, dropping my Tri-21 and Tri-18 risks from about 1:250 to 1:2000. So that is good. Yeah baby!
2. Has anyone found good maternity capri jeans? I realize some of you may not remotely be thinking about warm weather clothes, but I am down south where capris may well make an appearance in March and I want to be prepared!!! Struk out at Old Navy, Gap, and kohl's........mimi and motherhood are next! Need lightweight, light denim, with some strategically placed dark rinse lines on the inner thighs............ 3. Back to serious and scary- on the nuchal TS, looks like my placenta is attached fragile-ly. Sort of scary. It could get better or worse and I am sposed to not lift, stay off feet, etc. until follow up in 2 weeks. Nice stress, huh? 4. Speaking of capri pants, who is sick of winter? Feb. cant be over soon enough....... 5. Speaking of Feb, what are you doing nice for dh for Valentine's? Any big plans? 6. Speaking of Valentine's, if he gives you chocolate, will you eat it or give it to your skinny, non pregnant annoying neighbor? Or are you lucky enough not to have one of these people in your life?? ha ha!!! Have a great weekend! Heart shaped waffles coming up for Monday morning at our house!!! babyluv

Oh here you are with an August baby! Nice to see your post. Just wanted to congratulate you again and I will have to definitely follow your progress. Congrats on the good nuchal and blood screen results. That is such a relief. I am sure the placenta thing is quite scary but I am sure it will fix itself...just follows doctors order would you please?
Wish I could help on the maternity clothes, but both my babies are winter babies...never had the need for capri pants, however I would thing Old Navy online or Gap would be the best starting places. Good luck and keep me posted! Cindy

Hey Babyluv!
What a report!!! I don't know what to chat about first! 1. Great news about the nuchal! So are you not going to do the Amnio? We've decided against it...and have a second chance to decide when they do the Level II. 2.Capri Jeans...Old Navy just got a whole new shipment this week and everything is capri. I'm not sure when you went, but with their prices it might be worth a second look. I was in Mimi two weeks ago and they had adorable capri's...but they weren't jean material. 3. Don't like the attachment story - that is scary. I'm glad they noticed it so soon. Do what the doctor says and hopefully it will strengthen!!! 4. Winter? I'm okay with it still. I'm a New Englander so we have VERY definite seasons. I'm probably an odd one, but I just don't like it when it's freezing and there's no snow. What's the point? 5. Dh for Valentine's Day - I've done it all! Showed up at his apartment when we were first dating in a trenchcoat..played the stranger and "picked him up" at a bar wearing a wig and silicone breasts...did a striptease and dance in front of the fireplace...left a rose and a note on his car with a hotel room key... I have the double-whamy because it's also his birthday! So I try to do something sexy or romantic in addition to his birthday presents. As you can imagine, I'm not feely too sexy this year. I guess I'll have to play up on my new real breasts some how!!! 6. Totally laughing at this post! If anyone every read my posts in August about the Young and the Chestless...YES I DO HAVE A VERY SKINNY NON-PREGNANT ANNOYING NEIGHBOR!!! She won't be getting my chocolate! But neither will I...Being that it's his birthday, I kinda get screwed out of V-Day! Dinner is my bonus! Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

hey babyluv...
good update on the nuchal! glad to see that your risks have gone down so much. that's awesome. as for the placenta....be sure to take it easy and stay off your feet like they said until they can get another look in a few weeks. as for valentines day, we'll be babysitting my nephews like we do every monday night (my cousin is going to nursing school and has class on monday nights). so, we'll have a romantic night with our 8, 6, & 3 yr old nephews! lol....and dh knows better than to give me chocolates right now!! as for the capris, i found a pair of jean capris at old navy on clearance, but haven't found any others since. good luck on the search!

Great news on the nuchal! One more load off your mind right? The placenta scares me but I'm hoping it's early and with all the growing left to do, things will improve. In the meantime, enjoy the rest!
I was at Mimi maternity yesterday and they HAD capris in jeans and many colors. I have yet to find something to wear to that B-day party I'm going to in 2 weeks. DH invited me and DD out to dinner Monday night. But now there's a possibility he has to be out of town so the whole plan may be squashed. I got him/us tickets to a play in early March--figure we may as well get out while we can!He definitely would never get me chocoloates so none of my neighbors will benefit! Enjoy your warm weather--it's just a distant memory here! Lynn EDD: 8/1

great nuchal results, phew another hurdle overcome!!
the placenta thing sounds scary!!! how were they able to see that it wasnt attatched firmly?? is it the blood flow to the area or something?, hey never a better excuse to put and KEEP your feet firmly UP!!!!!! and relax as much as possible. cant help much with capri pants, as you probably wouldnt come quite this far (to england) to find a good pair of pants. the weather in england at the moment is quite mild for this time of year, should be winter and snow, but is quite warm?, i wont need summer clothes until probably may/june before it is warm enough, and luckily i have all my summer gear from last pregnancy, in fact when i was 39 weeks pregnant we had the highest temperature ever recorded in england over the last 100 years, i lived indoors with a bikini on and all the curtains shut to keep it cool, it was unbearable, we dont have air conditioning here as standard as it is not usually hot enough to warrant it. i answered the door once to a delivery guy, and he nearly fell over he looked so shocked to see this woman standing there with this enormous stomach poking out at him. valentines day???? dont know yet, we might go out for a meal or something, last year as a huge surprise dh sent me the most gorgeous huge bunch of roses, big shock as he dosent do flowers very often. if i get chocolate i will be eating it ALL, (huge chocoholic here)

Yippee on the nuchal! Thats good news. Bummer on the placenta. I dont like that at all. I will send good thoughts your way that your baby will stay strong and that the placenta will attach like it needs too. Capris I cant help you with since I havent been allowed out of the house I dont know what its like in the real world any longer. Is it warm out? Is there a sun???
Take it easy girl, I dont wanna hear any sad stories from you ok. Tammie Did someone say chocolate??? Yummm. |

Babyluv,
Congrats on the great nuchal! That must be a huge relief. With my second pg I had a subchorionic clot/bleed, which they only saw on an u/s, I had NO idea because I had not a drop of bleeding. I was told "pelvic rest" no lifting, no sex, and to stay off my feet (I'm a nurse, YEAH THAT WORKS!) Anyways, 4 weeks later the spot was gone and they said the placenta was firmly attached now. So, it does get better, just take care ![]() I have some cute capris that I borrowed from my sister from Mimi, but they aren't this years. I won't be wearing those for months as I live in NY and it snowed about 4 inches more here today. UGH! Once it hits March, I get major spring fever because it probably won't get nice until May. I am working on Valentine's day at the hospital I had no good ideas this year for DH and I pretty much told him that lastnight not to expect too much. He said it's a "girl's holiday" anyways, so I hope I get something fun!!

Hi Michele and others and thanks for the replies. It is a subchorionic bleed/hematoma and it's making me crazy. I usually (well both previous pgs) have preterm labor so taking it easy LATER ON is not a new thing but I have a lot I want to get done before I get to the 28 week mark which is when my danger zone started before........so it's really annoying to have to worry EARLY ON!!!
Anyhow, all I can do is wait and see, and since I gave up worrying for Lent, I just have to think about capri pants instead. Oh and what, WHAT to name this child. I have NO hints. I used my boy and girl names already!!! Hee hee! babyluv
