A...I was going to ask this to just you, but anyone that has info...chime in please. We are going to try to use up our sky miles and take the kids to WDW, but still would like to save some money while doing it. A, you had mentioned staying in a condo outside of the park...is that what you would still do, and how did you find it? For those that have gone recently...how did the young ones do? Any other advise?

How exciting!! I would absolutely stay at a condo outside of the park, especially with a family of 7! We almost never stay in the park when we go. I love having the space compared to a hotel and condos are a dime a dozen down there. I think we just got a 4 bedroom for under $500 a week. I go to the different rental by owner sites like vrbo.com and see what is out there. I can tell you if we know of the area when you see a condo name. Kissimmee/Orlando are not the safest or cleanest cities so you do want to try and get into a nice place. I will find out the names of some places we stayed and let you know.

great...thanks, I wondered if it was VRBO. We have used them before. We are also checking into Hawaii, we have friends that rent out their condo down there too. We are looking for the most inexpensive way to do it, we think we may lose our sky miles soon if we don't use them up.
M...how far away is Lake Buena Vista? I need to google map it because it isn't showing up on th VRBO site. What other cities are in that area?
P.S. Just found Lake Buena Vista...thanks :0)Last edited by Kirst7; 01-25-2010 at 07:54 AM.

We just went before Thanksgiving. We stayed at the Nickelodeon hotel. It was very nice- separate room for the kids and for us plus a pull out in the separate living room for my mom. My kids are/were 5 and 8. They did very well. No stroller needed. They walked their legs off for 3 days (3 parks in 3 days) and did very well. You would need a stroller for the 3 year olds though.

I agree with Lake Buena Vista. Very close!
The little ones did awesome. Their were some meltdowns and all, but we expected it and dealt with it. Hey, they melt down at home too! You will have some much fun at WDW!

We stayed in a gated resort community. We had a town home but they also have condos. One of the rooms was Mickey Mouse themed. It had it's own splash pool and also a huge resort pool. There was a movie theater, small convenience store. It was wonderful! It was in Kissimee. About 5-minutes from DW.
