    I'm a horrible mom....

So Mo traded her pacifier for two small Hello Kitty dolls today at TRU. I told her the plan the whole time, that she cold pick out a toy in exchange for the paci. She agreed, even came right home and handed me the pacifier.

Now she is up in her room crying that she wants the paci and trying to give the kitties back.

I feel like I can't give in on this so soon. I really want her to get rid of it before the new baby comes. Unfortunately she has a lot of changes coming up (getting tougher on the PTing, moving out of the crib and eventually sharing her room); so I thought this should go first since the PT'ing isn't going anywhere still.

I feel like I am the most horrible mommy....

You are NOT a horrible mommy. These little ones are in that "want to be independent/want Mommy/Daddy" phase, and it throws them for a BIG loop and us for one right along with them! Hang in there.

She actually made it through the night without the paci! I am so proud of her. She did ask DH about it again this morning, and I am sure it will be a struggle at naptime and again tonight, but I am hoping we can stick with it.

Awww...I feel your pain! I fell like that too! We cut little holes in Brin's and she didn't like it at first, but then wanted to keep sucking it because she didn't like the option of giving it up. We keep it in the crib during the day and Saturday morning when I was gone, she took it out of her crib and lost it. I looked, honestly I really did. I know where two others are but didn't want to get them out if she could go without. She asks for it everytime before she goes to sleep and we tell her it is lost and we will keep looking for it. So the first night, she woke up several times and we just had to console her and turn her music back on. Then last night she slept through the whole night without it. This morning L found it somewhere and even though Brin had been asking for it, I hid it. I know it is okay, but liked being able to blame it on it being lost and now feel like I am being dishonest with her. We are over the worst of it and don't want to go backwards so I guess we are in for the long haul, but I feel a little guilty! hang in there mommy!

J has been paci free for a week now. I just told him i didnt know where it was. I have noticed that he's been waking up earlier and moaning when he's going down. Now, he must have found one that i missed cause he had one this morning, but i have it.

Hang in there. I know it's hard.
